Axle/Gears: 3.42 posi disc 10 bolt

got that tool so go under car and slide it thur the arm hole and attach to the coil top and bottom coil sounds very tight ,can you remove the lower hook and make a flat piece of thick iron and place on outer a arm hole and compress that so the spring is compressed with the a arm together when installing ?
