Steering box I.D.

I got a box from a junkyard today off a stripped down firebird, couldn't tell what year. The alum cover on top has what appears to be a date of 7 97. It has 2 3/4 turns lock to lock. Can anyone tell by this info if it's a decent box? I can provide more numbers if necessary. Thanks, if you can help.

I don't have info on that #, but I know the best steering box will have "XH" stamped on the cover.Of course, this could be worn off.
Don't know if this helps or not.
