spohn needs a V6 K-member
owkay,
yesterday I asked spohn if they got somekind of K-member for the 60 degree V6. because at this moment we are left in the cold by all the suspension and chassis tuners.
anyway this is what they told, me
so now my question is, is there anyone with a V6 K-member that they can send to spohn ?
reason im not sending mine is because its in use, and sending it overseas would be a wee little bit to much if you can find those things there in your backyard.

What we have now I'm sure wiould not work. We've had a few requests for the 3.1 V6 application but we need someone to send us their stock k-member and all the motor mount parts so we can mock up and jig a 3.1L version.

Re: spohn needs a V6 K-member
A guy on our v6 boards swapped in a 3x00 and got a tubular K member, Idk offhand what he did to make it work though, but if its not viable to use the one they sell for the rwd engine he might have and could send in-heres a question, does whoever parts with their K-member and tests the new one get it free??

Re: spohn needs a V6 K-member
the V6 K member is the same as the V8 one, it's just the mounting hole locations that changed. All third gen K members have the holes for the V6 mounts. Someone just needs to send them a pair of bottom mounts and a picture of how they fit.
I have a Spohn K member with the SBC mounting pads in my V6 car, i had to make my own motor mounts but that was fairly easy. I used a FWD block so i would have had to make my own anyways, V6 pads or not.

Now see I kind of thought the K-members were the same, wasn't positive though. btw purple82ta, I noticed your car has K-member to subframe trianglular braces, did it come with those or did you buy them? And from what I can tell they bolt to the K-member, do they bolt to the subframe too, are are they welded to the subframes?

Re: spohn needs a V6 K-member
The K members are the same between V6 and V8 cars. There is 2 sets of engine mount bolt holes on them. The set closer to the front of the car is used for the V8 engines, and the set closer to the firewall is used for the V6 engines. When I did my V8 swap all I had to do was unbolt the V6 mounts and bolt in the V8 ones.
3rd gen RS - If you're referring to the braces I think you are, they are stock braces. The later 3rdgens came with them to help with front end flex I believe. They have 2 bolts holding them to the front of the K member, and 1 bolt attaching them to the underside of the frame rails.
