KYB vs Carrera Shocks
Well, I have been looking around, searching, and reading about shocks for a month or so now, but I can't decide on what to go with. My budget range is around $60 or below per shock.
I have heard some good things about KYB gas-a-just shocks, but nothing to great. I am considering these ones: http://store.summitracing.com/partde...art=KYB-KG5562
I also heard that a lot of sports cars use Carrera shocks. I found a set over at UMI Performance and think they may be better than the KYB shocks. Here is the shock I am looking at: http://www.umiperformance.com/produc...em_id=88895213
I drive my Camaro every day (except winter) and will street race on occasion. I do a lot of freeway and country road driving (lots of high speed turns). Which one of these shocks would be better for that type of driving? Also, is the performance difference between the KYB and Carrera worth the price difference?
Thanks

Re: KYB vs Carrera Shocks
i have KYB gr2 struts and gas-a-justs in the rear with sportlines and the suspension upgrades in my sig. i was surprised to see how well it performed... this thing really holds in the corners. ive outhandled a few BMW's and mercedes AMG's.
i had a small budget, and only spent like 160$ total. gas-a justs are good shocks... they are high pressure and monotube design which means they will last. when i squeezed them in my hand it really hurt my hand and was a pain vs the Gr2's which where a good bit easier. i will be going with KYB AGX in the front tho with my upcoming engine swap.
no experience with carrera, but im happy with the KYB's. and the price is just right.
