Wide Tires

Looking for (good) tires to fit 1991 Z28 16" wheels, tires larger (wider) than 245/50 ZR16. I thought BFGoodrich had g-force in at least 255/50, but I can't find them on their website. Any suggestions? Thanx!

Re: Wide Tires

if you dont care about wear or anything and want GREAT traction then get some mickey thompson et streets 255/50/16 i just put a pair on today and theyre about an inch wider than a 245 tire. plus they grip very well.

Re: Wide Tires

Grip is exactly what I'm looking for. Do the M/Ts handle & drive somewhat 'normal' during regular street / highway operation?

Re: Wide Tires

I wouldn't drive in the rain with them. Hydroplaining becomes a bit easier to say the least.

Re: Wide Tires

^ what he said but other than rain it handles the same to me at least im not a maniac in cornering. as for grip the only thing i think that can beat these are full out slicks. nittos dont even compare to these. i have a vette servo in my 700r4 and the 1-2 shift at WOT snaps my neck hard cause the car just jerks forward instead of chirping the tires now. i have yet to be able to spin them but tonight i will find it my 125 shot will.

Re: Wide Tires

ok well last night i had 1 race from a dig. from about 20mph or more i hit the nitrous 125 shot which is about maybe 300 to the wheels in all with my motor the tires didnt even break loose once and that was without a burnout.
