The KYB AGX's have very comparable rebound compared to the Yellows but compression is the same as the Illuminas.
Lots of "hmmm"s as I went through this, even though this is for Mustangs. Have a look.
Note: The colour to number reference of the Illuminas seems to be scrambled but you get the idea.

Whats the deal with KYB AGX rears? The different dampening levels are practically identical. If I go KYB AGX struts, I'm definetly not going KYB AGX shocks. I'll probably go with Tokico for the shocks, or maybe just buck it up and go Bilstein shocks.

I'll tell you what, seeing that chart from Koni is rather surprizing. That valving on the AGX fronts on position 3 to 4 range looks great.
I always stated that my car had too much front bump (compression ) valving with the Koni Yellows and I wish it was a tad lower. I ran it with full rebound settings though and I actually like AGX digressive qualities at the higher piston speeds. You want that strut getting the wheel back on the ground and Koni's high speed release is a tad too high on rebound. I used to skip my car several times across off camber compression turns (down hill bump turns when the entire ride height compresses just as the car turns, then releases in turn)THis is the only time I had trouble with steering the car.
Food for thought though- we have to remeber this chart is for the valving on the 03 Mustang strut, not the 3rd gen. I would like to see the erd gen comparisons before I go endorsing this comment any further.

Drag racing- full off fronts. you want low rebound so the front raises as quickly as possible on launch. I would still leave the rears on full on for best compression settings and rebound to keep the rear stable- even though the graph shows pretty much no adjustabilty in the AGX adjustable rear shocks- go figure, marketing scam or what? why even have them adjustable if the **** does nothing.

I just replaced my struts and shocks with the KYB-AGX the front is a step up from the Gabriels that were on there, but I think the OE Bilsteins with 136000 miles on them still provide more dampening than the KYB-AGX rears even @ the # 8 setting. Guess the old monotube is still better than the new twin tube adjustable
