love mine. nice and solid. i would recommend the poly torque arm mount to cut down on the noise transferred to the cross member, especially if you have rod ends on the rest of the suspension like i do.

thanks for your opinions guys..
if the mods see this can you move this to the trans/drivetrain page of TGO??? I think thats a better spot for this post...
Also.. on Spohn's page (for the Adj. TQ Arm) it lists Front Mount Type-
Poly Bushing.. or Chrome Moly Sperical Rod end. Which one should I opt for? My car is gonna be a street/strip car. If the chrome moly sperical rod end is used for "hardcore drag racing" I figure its not for me then.. I always here about how chrome moly is lighter but still prone to cracking on the street...
Thanks in advance..

Mine works fine.
It's a real tight fit around where the end of the arm goes next to the trans; but with care, and several trial fits and readjustments, it is now happy. The driveshaft loop bracket also hangs down sort of low, but given how it has to be located in this chassis, I don't see how that could have been avoided.
The poly is probably better, if you drive it on the street. Rod ends transfer ALOT of road and drive train noise to the chassis.

Are you talking about adjusting the pinion angle??
My car isn't lowered either. But if I go over a really serious dip, it will scrape. There's one place I can make it bottom out any time I want.... it's where one street turns into an e-way entrance ramp after it crosses another that has a kind of high crown, and then goes up a hill. If I go over that spot at more than 35 mph or so, it will scrape when it comes down off the crown on the other side and gets to the lowest point and then starts going up the hill.

also, if i were to buy a new tourqe are (got a smokin deal on mine used) i would buy it in crome molly because the peice is so big there would be serious weight savings over the steel peice, more so than any other peice. the other stuff would only save a pound or two apeice over the normal steel.

Thanks for all the info sofakingdom and @ZZKKER. Sorry I didnt fully understand what you were saying before @ZZKKER. I pulled my T-5 out over the weekend and I started looking at my T-56 and I think Im in a little over my head.. So you guys are gonna have to bear with me.. I can understand why you'd want to go for chrome moly over mild steel (for saving weight) but I've ALWAYS hear about guys breaking their chrome moly suspension pieces on the street.. Meaning chrome moly=track only. Granted this is what I remember reading here on TGO.. a long long time ago. I used to be be MORE active on this board...times change and so do priorities..

i have not heard of anyone that is running the cm torque arm on the street having any issues. you might want to ask steve and see what he would suggest.
if you start with a t-5 car then half your work is already done!. you just need to enlarge your hole that the tranny pokes up through.
any questions feel free to ask.
good luck

so its been a while since I read up on chrome moly vs. mild steel. So i surfed through tgo to figure out if I wanted chrome moly or not. No offense to you @ZZKKER but Im gonna go with mild steel because its 100 bucks cheaper, Im not real worried about saving weight (maybe down the road I'll kick myself in the *** for saying that), and the whole thing about chrome moly breaking (vs. mild steel bending) really is the deciding factor. Im gonna contact Spohn before I place my order just to make sure I'm making the right choice. Thanks for all your help guys.. I'll update this thread when progress is made...
