I didn't grind the mounting ears on my S10 box and I don't have a sway bar to get in the way. I did use the third gen pitman arm though to keep the same steering geometry.
You need a 84 and up S10 box. As in the above picture, it has 4 bolts on the top cover. The earlier boxes have 3 bolts on the top cover. Although I haven't checked, the input shaft and sector shaft should be a different size making the swap a little more difficult with an early box.
The manual steering box can be found in S10's that originally came with the Iron Duke 2.5L 4 cylinder engine however not all 4 cylinder S10's came with manual steering.
