Stock Spring's question

heres what I got, my IROC has around 175,000 miles on stock springs. Ive purchased stock replacment struts for the front and am going to get new shocks for the rear. My ride height at the moment on the stock suspension is really high. My buddy has a 85 IROC 100,000 miles same size tires and he sits almost 1 1/2 lower than I do in the wheel wells. And another buddy has a 86 with only 80,000 miles and he sits 1/2 inches lower than the 85. Whats the deal. Do the springs give that much over time and wear?? What is the wheel well clearance or ground clearance suppose to be stock?? And what is going to happen if I put Eiboch 1 ich lowering springs on???

Thanks in advance for the help any will be apreciated.

That's interesting your car sits higher. The usual is for springs,as they age/acumulate miles,to settle. The other 2 IROCS you're speaking of,are they running stock height springs?A PO of your car may have replaced the springs or have you looked to see if there are some type of spring riser/spacer on your car?
With the 1" lowering Eibach springs you'll do just that.Lower her roughly 1".Also with the new struts/shocks you'll notice she sits somewhat higher until they settle.

Ya, I figured the same thing. But the 1 inch lowering springs will lower it from stock. So maybe more than an inch. I would hope for around 2. And no there are no spring Rubbers and the Springs are definatly not new. I,m just confusedas to why it sits so funny. If the Motor was in the Car at the moment I would take a picture of the Wheel Wells compared to some other IROCS and Camaros on stock springs. Until then I dont really know what to do.

Car: projects.......
was your car possibly a higher level performance suspension(WS6, etc) and the other maybe not? - If so, they'd have settled more due to less rate springs. - Anyhow, the Sport line kit will get you 2" - looks something like this...

No it doesnt have the WS6 or anything on it. Unless the IROC's had simmiliar suspension upgrades. If I had the motor in the car, like I said, I would take some pics and get you an Idea how High It sits. These are the only pics I have that can give you even a clue. The Nice Shiny IROC in center pic is one of the friends Ride that sits lower on stock suspension, and mine is beside his. You can sorta tell the difference.
