Like the subject lines says....
Anybody heard from Karl about another strut mount production run? I emailed him about a week ago and never got any response. I THOUGHT he said he'd be making another production run soon but I never heard anything after that. Have you guys heard anything? :lala: :lala: :lala: :lala: :lala:
Later..

IIRC, the last post requesting this got deleted due to the non-sponsored advertising rule. You might try contacting him directly. I could be wrong.

I did try emailing him directly but never got a response. I dont remember anything about non-sponsored advertising rules (when I signed on thirdgen.org). BUT you've been on this list a lot longer than I have so I'll take your word for it. Not to be a smart@$$ but technically this isnt me asking about pricing/buying/selling. I feel that its more geared to talking about a product itself. If a moderator chooses to lock/delete this post I'll understand. Rules are rules...

Hmmm.. Karl must be busy. I read something about his post getting deleted. His ID is Hunter Motorsports, maybe search will turn up something.
I'll try it.
Maybe something in the aftermarket product/vendor sections???

ede,
The problem I see with this policy is exactly what happened on chevytalk.com. How far do you take this policy? If I mention hooker headers and tell you to get them at jeg's for $$$$, then that's violating the policy. But since jeg's isn't a tgo member, it's tolerated. But if the owner of jeg's became a regular on tgo, would his posts be banned if he didn't advertise? Isn't the purpose of this board to help all owners of 3rd gens out with information and tech help that benefits us all?
I beleive the policy needs to be spelled out in great detail covering what would happen if jeg's became a member. And can I make a part and trade it to another member, or does that violate the policy? As it stands now, no one really has a clue as to this policy on tgo.

ede,
the only problem i see is that, there are LOTS of parts for thirdgens, and some people like hunter are making basicly one off custom parts, you can't expect every one off parts maker to pay for a banner, so does that mean that we are limited to talking about, promoting, and finding parts other than those made by the sponsers. i completely agree that the sponsors pay money, and someone should not regester with the sole intent of undercutting those sponsers. but the people who are looking for karls part are not going to be able to purchase it from one of our sponsers. there are VERY few people interested in this part, and the ones that are are not looking for the peice spohn sells.
now this of course should probably be moved to the suggestion board, but i think that the policy for this should be looked at, so that the MEMBERS can benifit as much as the sponsors. because the members of this site, are the ones that should be gaining.

ede,
I'm not trying to be a pain, but I just went to the opening page, and then clicked on message boards. I didn't see a link to the board policy anywere. The hms post was deleted without any explanitaion at all. And when someone asked about it, they were told even asking about the hms mounts violated the board policy.
And, I'm sure so does this thread, and I also assume that I'll probably be banned for writting this, but in my humble opinion, a explanation is warrented.
So, let me clarify this. I (or anyone else) can't make a part myself and derive personal gain from it, and pitch them here in any way, shape, or form. Correct? But's it's ok to talk about jeg's, summit, ect. because they aren't tgo members.
I fully understand the cost of running a board like this. I run one, and the costs do add up. Chevytalk started a supporting member program with several levels of membership. Each level had more benefits than the one below it. Why can't this be done here to offset the costs of ruinning the board, and allow us to talk about the hms strut mounts? Paypal accounts are easy to set up, and I for one will paypal $50 to whomever today to support this board. And if it requires more, let me know.

on another note.... it must not be a entire SITE policy
Craig Motes openly sells his products:
https://www.thirdgen.org/techbb2/sho...hreadid=101774
Pro-Built Automatics promotes his products:
https://www.thirdgen.org/techbb2/sho...hreadid=143597
87transam5.7tpi, a dealer for formula113 promotes his product:
https://www.thirdgen.org/techbb2/sho...hreadid=164849
now i don't mean to signle those indivuals out, but those are 3 examples if found just browsing real quickly.

the only people that get or deserve an explaination is the person the wrote the thread so you are in error to think or say the thread was deleted with no explaination. yes it is the policy of thirdgen.org, not me, that you can not promote for sale any parts or services. what has or has not transpired between the mods and admins of this site and any members is not any ones buisness, so lets say for example some one is one step away from being banned for promoting their parts or services it's no ones buisness but the sites and the member. no ones sells or promotes their parts or services on any of the boards i moderate as far as i know. sometimes i delete a thread, sometimes i lock it, depends on the thread and how much time i have.
