Edit: Looks like they will be racing through at least the 2015 season. Maybe into 2016. It will take a while for the process to go through.

We were promise last year a full 2015 NASCAR season. It will go year by year and be updated again later in the season if it will go to a 2016. The projections for the outlet mall to be completed are 2018,

For those of you who do NOT know, the property was bought and is being changed by Chinese investors. Yes Chinese (foriegn money) is buying up our country and are not US based citizens. Irwindale politicians are obviously taking seruious bribe money as they voted on THursday to "CHANGE" the soning laws of this parcel and allow for an outlet mall to be built. The property was originally sold in 2012 on the heals of the dropped economy-BUT the property was not zoned for this outlet mall when the Chinese bought it.

There goes any grassroots racing in So Calif. Back to the amatuer stuff that doesn't pay anything like Autox, Hpde, Time attack, etc.

Also- The funny thing is the ground underneath there is probably so unstable in the "track portion" of the property. THey did a lot of grading and earth fill under where the grandstands went up back in 1998, however, when you walk out on track and open the drainage grates out towards the middle of the course you can look right down in there and see the old rubber tires that were used as "Fill" for the entire area. This mall is supposedly going to be built on a landfill. I hope these investors loose their asses, and I really hope no one ever shops there on spends another single penny in the city of Irwindale after this track is torn down.Crooked politicians.

NASCAR will be racing in Bakersfield.. A way better track..

Sure, that's why we have 5 different racers in our division that drive down to here from Santa Clarita, Santee, Bakersfield, and Lompoc. Not one of them race at Bakersfield okie dirt track.

Try again telling some bullshit to someone that knows better.We're all going to Kern County for 2016 idiot. But even Kern is les desireable to the racers then the beautiful banks of Irwindale. No other track like it that you can run 4 wide.

Hey man, you need to calm down. All I said that there in the process of building a track for NASCAR did I know you knew this. Of course I did. No since going crazy about this. You all have known Irwindale was going down. Everyone that has been racing there should be very thankful that it's been reopened. I much rather See IHBA. That's what we're trying to get back strong again.

We are putting a committee together to fight this Irwindale vote last week. At very least maybe we can have the project put off another year.

A hearing will be held at Irwindale City Hall on May 13, 2015 @ 6:30pm. Everyones attendance is encouraged.
