Ran the car again; I'm a convicted cone killer after today!

That was one of my faster runs, I feel I could have run faster but my general health isn't too good this week, I did the best I could. Updates to the car are:

Ground Control WJ
1100/lb front springs
235/lb rear

-1.5 camber, 4.5 caster, 0.1 toe out

Koni Yellows (rear set to 0, front full firm)

36mm/23mm sway bars (getting a 18mm/21mm bar for tuning)

GC Panhard bar
Lowered the panhard 2 inches, leveled it out

LCARBS.

They're great; admittedly, I probably will never adjust the height. The spring rate is pretty firm... but not that bad.

What tires are you running? What was your time? You mentioned you lowered the panhard bar; was this done using the jegster bracket?

Jegster bracket and panhard relocation bracket from Founder's.

I'm running Toyo Proxes R1Rs.

My fastest times of the day 50.15. I couldn't get out of that field. Quick, but not as quick as I'd like. Slow for the day was 52> and fast was <48 so I was right in the middle.

Um... Never got my invite? The previous link you supplied only an upcoming event for January? Whatever...

You're definitely headed in the right direction with the mods...

My springs were rated at 1000lbs out of the box so after trimming for desired ride height, the rate is a tad bit higher. Definitely not the most comfortable but definitely streetable.

Alignment specs are conservative IMO but if its working and your happy with how the car is responding then rock on.

Panhard business, all good in the hood.

Rear sway bar... Move the mounting brackets on the axle tubes inboard. It will have the effect of a smaller bar. It

Based on your run, your throttle modulation and steering inputs are hesitant and choppy. Totally in line with dialing in a new set up. As you get more confident with the new set up it will smooth out.

The roof mounted camera is great if your looking for something to give you a little sensation of speed. However, you really need to have someone capture the car from a distance so you can see the whole articulation picture. Again, just an opinion.

All in all the car appears to be coming along nicely, well done you. Now I'm actually looking forward to a little WTW action with you.

Re: More mods, another autocross

Dude, all of Goose's comments are valid, and worthy of serious consideration. Next time out think about mounting the camera on the side of your car to pick up on the front or rear tire. This will allow you to evaluate tire roll and confirm your tire pressures and/or suspension travel geometry. Another option would be inside the car to eval how you are physically handling the driving aspect. Autocross is more about the driver than the car. The next weak link will be your posi unit. Too stiff a rear bar willl start to lift the inside rear tire on the tight turns and quick transistions, sounds like you have a plan in place. We've discussed posi options. Look forward to seeing you in January, maybe I can hitch a ride ?

Re: More mods, another autocross

I totally agree with him... at this point I think 95% of my improvements will be in working on my driving style.

Re: More mods, another autocross

did you take any tire temps after your runs to check for tire pressures and alignment?
I'd max the castor out as much as you can get.
