Anyone wants to start a F Body group in the 562/310 area

Hello TGO.
I have been noticing that some people have been thinking of starting their thirdgen f body group. I was thinking of joinnin but when I saw there location it is kinda car for me to drive. So I was thinking if anyone would be interested in forming a group here in the Long beach and surrounding areas. I am aware there is alreay another club in the southern cali area.
I already have a few friends that own thirdgen that are intrested (5)
We are thinking of making some shirts and stickers for the crew.
And also we have a few plans for the group.
My friends want to have a meeting and talk with everyone about has plans and see if they want to be part of it.
If anyone is interested let me know

Yeah you are rite. There are a couple of mustangs and cobra especially a few friends of mine that have them. They think there cars are faster than a thirdgen, for now lol
Anyways I do see some thirdgen but everytime I do I am either driving the other way or they are not in a good condition.

Well for one... Kat's like to stay as local as possible. With SC3G it has the enormous task of covering a LARGE area.

2nd.. With the meetings moving around to the various regions, folks would potentially see/ come out to the local meetings then.. Also, it seems those on TGO may or may not know or are aware of SC3G.org...

And Lastly, It could just be Karma... For some folks may not wanna bother dealing with a group due to previous issues... So, why would they wanna drive a distance for that when they can create their own and stay local...

Just a thought

This meeting in April is the one located in the IE.. SC3G folks rotate their meetings to different locations to service the whole southern cali region.. In June it will be someplace else in SoCal..

Yeah I know what you mean. I just turn 20 and my other friends just turned 21 and we are also trying to avoid to get into trouble since the cops around our area know our cars. We had a teenage that owns a black 82 Z28 who was interested in been part of our group but he suggested in order to gain some points for the group we should do some illegal street racing and burnouts which in fact was not what my friend wanted to do. If we were to race we would go to irwindale.

I'm local as well so i would be inclined to come out and support. I can even help where ever i can if enough are serious.

In my opinion there already is a SC3G group no reason why there can't be different chapters spread throughout, but the ultimate goal should be to unite all those chapters(specially for big events) The bigger events are already scheduled and set up by SC3G(La Invasion, drag meet, Big Bear cruise, Solvang) The goal should be to try and gather those groups from different local areas and caravan to whatever location the event is happening.

Second, having a local group is a great idea, but in my opinion that would more then likely involve picking a local parking lot, gathering, and just hanging out. The majority of us lack the know how or fabrication skills to have enough to bring to the table to create an open forum. Spending time around people like Don, Jerry, Allan **** even Vince broadens our knowledge towards our cars, and the majority of them have their cars at a level some like me wish to have our own car at. That is why uniting everyone is essential because of the valuable information available and shared.

yea theres nothing wrong with other car clubs or additional so cal chapters because this isnt a sc3g only forum. sc3g is a pretty big organization. but i think the younger cats have different opinions as well . hanging out checking out each others cars, lil cruises, a little bit of street running and have some good "car related" talk.

idk about the whole gaining points doing burnouts lol but like u said irwindale is open every thursday. and well there are hidden streets out there away from cops for some lol

Good idea godreject

Yeah in fact the friends that I am hanging out with are serious in been part of it. My friend who original though about it was thinking of having all the groups in so cal meeting up somewhere and hang and meet everyone in the thirdgen community but he still unsure because he don't know is people are angry with him on something he did (first timer).
Also it would be a good idea to see the things such as engine work fabrication, etc that some people put in there are. Such as when I was invited by the homie to the ivrine meeting back in jan I was surprise to see the mod that some people well not all of them. What I am saying I notice that some people are putting down close to 400HP and still have it street legal here in cali, but for right now we are with a member here on thirdgen that does great work and he is modifying my friends thirdgen.
Right now me and my friends are finding area in which we can have meeting at that won't want to cause a problem to anyone. So that way we can hit those spots and not having any problems. And yeah we were planning of having some meeting in which we meet to hang out and have a great time

Re: Anyone wants to start a F Body group in the 562/310 area

Keep in mind whatever location is chosen to alert the business management, of the date and time you choose to gather. Just don't show up in a random parking lot and set up camp. This will ensure you have a place to come back to where we are welcomed. Also advice possible attending members of regulations and conduct, i know we all want to do burn outs and what not but things like that will quickly get everyone banned and will surely eliminate the possibility of using that same spot in the future.

how about a list of local 310, 562, 323 people so we may see a number of people your talking about. I see plenty of 3rd Gens in the local area but rarely any post from newer members. I saw an old post that was deleted for lack of 3rd gen content that had a pic of the 3rd gen along with its owner, this would be a good idea to put a face, name and car pic to local members, Mike, Kevin is this possible,

I'd be interested in attending some of the meetings, as long as you guys are ok with some late model performance (LSX). There are some cool rides and peeps w/So Cal F-Bodies but the organizers seem to have a lot of drama and be more concerned about politics than cars.

My friend LBRS called me about what you posted and i told him to say that it is okay to have any f bodies in the group. In fact i would be happy to see the ideas that people did to their f bodies car.
By all means any f boides are wlecome.

Also To Godreject,
yeah i am aware of what you said on the location. I will be talking with the management to see if we can come to an agreement. Right now i am having another friend finding location that are reasonable for everyone to driving. Which means that i am trying to have our locations in areas that will be equal distance for everyone to travel to.
Any question ask me or my friend LBRS

Valentin.

I stay in the (323) but spend most of my time in the (562). It would be cool to get together with other third gen owners and hang out/ represent.

What up peeps..
I am intrested from 562 area. lakewood mall is not to far from me. I have a couple of bugs I need to have worked out, but other than that I am intrested in getting to know some of the local peeps and their cars.

Just a suggestion... even for SC3G's(future meetings). They just opened a Big Boy Broilers in Downey and I have seen diffrent car groups meet up their.

Hey Johny,
That's not a bad spot to meet up and also get something to eat.
It depends on everyone else if they would like to meet up there, I can go and take with the management and see if we can meet up there
Let me know if it something you guys are interested in also you can tell my friend LBRS

Hey guys

I noticed the title thread was adjusted to include 323 & 213.

That makes your meetings much bigger. Covers a much larger area, close to all of Los Angeles county... Then this doesn't seem to be a "local" meet, @ least to me...

Consider that you haven't had a meet yet. There are logistical ideas & issues that need to be ironed out. Start out smaller, then work your way out if it's successful.

Yeah you are rite Adrian,
My bad I was thinking of the South Gate, huntington park area since they are the 323 area also. I will change it back to the local area. And yeah I will want to start small and see how things work out.

Also to the member that don't know. I will be having a meeting here in Lakewood for who wants to come over and check out the thirdgen community here in the 562 and surrounding areas. The meeting will be Apr 4 at 1pm. If anyone is interested in coming come by and hang out for a while. In fact I wouldn't mind seen some projects car. One of my friend that is going also has a half primer car.
All Camaro and Firebirds are welcome.
Hopefully I will see you at the meeting
Thanks

Is it not Easter this Sunday the 4th? I won't be able to make it if that's the case. Perhaps it will be a problem for some people to make it. Especially around noon when everybody is doing the family thing.

Yeah are rite.
I completely forgot about Easter Sunday
I will see if I can change the meeting to another day. I was thinking of changing it to the other week but I don't think it will be a good idea. I mite have to have it within two or three weeks
Also in the meeting spot there is a closed Target on South St and Downey Ave that has a big parking lot. I will see if we can have a meeting there since there is more space

I know it's a bit of a cluster fudge to set up your own club, but I've been wanting to be in a local F-Body club for years now. So, I'm behind you on this. I want to show up to all the meetings and be a part of this.

Okay that's cool

Also to let everyone know I did talked with a few managements to let us have our meeting at but I am still waiting to see what they tell me. If everyone is okay I can set up another meeting at Mayfair park I know it is kinda small but we can meet there for the meanwhile and get to know everyone, unless anyone knows of a few places that are bigger and won't mind having some meetings there. I will talk with the management to see if they allow us to have meetings there, just let me know if anyone knows a few places. I will try to keep it in the lakewood area since that is kinda the center point for everyone
I will keep everyone posted with new updates

Yo Tony!

I had a couple of suggestions in the thread above @ post #5.

The location in lakewood you don't necessarily need permission to gather in the lot due to it being so large and can have the option to get a bite to eat @ Denny's.. And there's the other option.

Hope this helps you out.... (I may have another option, however, i won't know if it's possible until tuesday..

Hey Adrian
yeah I went with Valentin today to check out the area in Kolns and yeah it looks like a good place to meet at, I am planning to go on Monday to talked with the management to see if things will be okay to have a meeting there. I have readed from the prevoius posted that you had a few ideas and they sound like great places to meet at and get something to eat. Also the parking lot in front of the bowling area looks good to meet up but we will see

I am still thinking of having our first meeting at Mayfair Park and to have some pizza and some drinks but I am not sure if it is okay with everyone else. Let me know if that's okay that way I can set a meeting day so we can hang out and check out our thirdgen community.

Re: Anyone wants to start a F Body group in the 562/310 area

You'll notice I'm beginning to close SC3G threads and re-direct them to the club web site. If you guys are serious about either starting a new club or have it be a chapter of SC3G that's fine. Once you get the details worked out let us know which way you plan to go. If it is a chapter of SC3G then we should probably expand the site to open the new individual chapters. If you go with your own separate club, then you'll likely want to create your own web site. The downside is there is extra cost and hassle involved with selecting that route.

Hey Mike,
Would it be okay with you if we can have a meeting this month so all the 562 area can meeting and talk about the chapter thats are set up. My friend and my myself have not problem been part of it but we want to first see what other member will say and see what is there decision on it.
I don't want to do something in which can cause problems with other member I hope you understand. That is why I been trying to get a meeting day so we can hang out and talk about the plans on the club/group that me and my friend are trying to start here.
Let me know if that's is okay with you and everyone else.
Like I told you yesterday I first want to see the details on this chapters and see what others think about it. And if we can come to an agreement we can go from there. I hope you can understand

Re: Anyone wants to start a F Body group in the 562/310 area

Hello Everyone
I was just told by my friend that a poll is set up in the link below

http://www.sc3g.org/phpBB2/viewtopic...d393b368ca1607

Please vote to which day is more better for you guys/gals to meet up. There is two days we can either have our first meeting on but we have to vote for one that would be more better.
Once we have tally the vote we will post the day with more vote and set up the meeting
The poll explains where we will be meeting at, and if anyone else wants to we have booked a spot to eat there at Fuddruckers.

Hopefully we can see everyone there
