Thanx Don!!
I've been thrashing on my "dirt cheap" formula for 3 weeks now, trying to figure out why it wouldn't run properly (you get what you pay for), and annoying Don with the drama the whole time, who finally hit on the problem. The previous owner (or the worlds' sloppiest wrench) got the hoses swapped above the rear axle when he changed out the fuel pump, thus the TPI "return" line was siphoning into the charcoal canister, which would fill entirely with fuel, and after driving for a bit, the car would warm up and go into closed loop and start pulling tons of raw gas from the charcoal canister, making the car go so rich it would stumble badly and die.
I swapped the lines, and just got back from driving the car to Palmdale and back. Runs like, well, a stock TPI 305.
Thanks for the help!!
