This was just an experimental run. We are gonna go back with more cars and cameras in a few weeks – hence the to be continued….
K&N Filters didn’t look that bad either.
If anyone is interested in tagging along, holler. It will be an AM run with a pit stop at Cruisers Car Wash on the way home.

Clowns like this that tear the crap outta the lakebed and will eventually close the whole thing to the public.
You can do those childish antics at your local parkinglots in the rain, Elmirage is and always has been for high speed runs- check your history books and don't ruin it for everyone. They have kept it open but HIGHLY frown on antics like you have shown. Ruts ruin it for the people who drive far for real testing on non-event days.
No thought for others, no clue.

The only time the lakebed is ruined is when the 4x'ers tear it up in/after the rain, other than that the wind just flattens it out again.
Been there many times on my bike and most of those racy car ads are filmed there too.

Re: El Mirage: Dirty Pontiacs
My car has enough dust on it from sitting in the driveway. I don't need to be scrubbing dirt out of every nook and cranny.

Awe come on fellas. This was all in fun. I’ve been flying over El Mirage for years in my Father in Laws Ultralights. I’m very aware of what goes on there and I consider my self a desert rat. I would never S*it where I eat. LOL.
I appreciate the feed back and totally respect your opinion on the matter. I assure you any digs we did as of today are already dusted over. Besides, where we were was no where near the 200 mph runs. It’s like being an ant the size of a pool table. Plenty of room.
No one complained when Knight Rider filmed the shows intro.
True, the race ads kinda inspired this run. Perhaps we can lay off the donuts and focus on runs.

Re: El Mirage: Dirty Pontiacs
I have been up there regularly for years and every once in a while the lakebed is so jacked up I have to be very cautious even in my truck crossing it at speed looking for ruts. There is plenty of room off to the west end sides of the bed to play dounuts, it just looks to me you guys were out in the middle on the west end flats where the bed stays most prestine for events.
I have had my truck up there pulling the toys and have unlatched it last time for a fun run, it was scary though due to rough surfaces. Was able to get 132 then I shut it down- just cant see whats coming up- scary. I have actually had this truck up to 152mph perfectly stable. Heck I even did about 110 with the little trailer on it once.

Re: El Mirage: Dirty Pontiacs
This was just after I ripped the entire front airdam/splitter off on the freeway with a bigrig retread. That was about a $500 fauxpa. Without the areo on the truck its an aerodynamic brick and will only do about 135mph. With areo, I have had it so far to 152mph and 148 mph on two separate occations.

When my F250 had the 428 in it a buddy and I raced up the Cajon Pass pulling our 26ft off shore cruisers. I was banging on triple digits.
Used over 1/4 tank gas on that short run.

Re: El Mirage: Dirty Pontiacs
I have been there when I first got my car, lots of fun. I went 135mph without any mods at all, not even the muffler.
You can't help making donuts, there's no traction!
When I stopped for gas afterward, a whole pile of dust fell out from every hole!
The ruts are caused by 4whlrs who go out when it's muddy!
It dries like cement, and after that you can do anything on it.
If you notice the ruts are in the middle where the most mud was; ideally it WOULD be the smoothest area but thanks to trucks messing around...
