new smog test requirement VERY IMPORTANT
Oh, I skated on this one. I just had my GTA smog tested about half an hour ago, and the stations are now required to plug off the evap canister, screw a special gas cap into your tank, and pressurize your tank to check for leaks.
I know of only a handful of third-gens that don't have the leaky tank filler syndrome, mine sure does. However since this is a new test, the tech couldn't figure out how to screw his adapter into my tank, he called the smog tech help line, who gave him a code to by-pass the test.
So there it is, if you have not fixed the common third-gen filler-neck leak, you will probably fail your next smog check. I got lucky.

That went into effect in Dec 2007.
There is a thread on it.
So far about 1/2 of the cars tested the smog tech has damaged the hose to the cannister.
