F/S: 1989 Formula 350, red w/t-tops in Palmdale
Sunday night I saw this car parked in a gravel lot on 10th Street West, at the corner of Avenue O in Palmdale(just north of the new Walmart and Sam's Club and the mall, right off of the 14 freeway). I won't have time to get any daytime shots of it until wednesday, if it's even still at that location, so these phone pix are the best I can do for now.
The VIN verifies a 350 engine. It has the dual-cat exhaust. The body looks very good, and the car looks str8, but the paint is pretty worn-out(could be original). The aerowing has a couple of cracks, but it's in pretty good condition, considering its age. The wheels are in excellent condition, and it has good tires. It was too dark to tell the condition of the interior, but it looked grey, and it had seatcovers on the front seats. It has valid plates, and its smog papers are on the dash showing it passed.
There was no price on the sign, but one of my pix is of the sign, so you can call the owner. With two thirdgens currently, I'm not in the market for another, or I'd prolly be making an offer on it. It looks like a good one.
I briefly searched the Classifieds to see if anyone's already advertising it here, but I didn't see it, so I thought I'd let people know about it. And I figure that being up here in the Antelope Valley, it would most-likely generate SoCal interest only, so I'm putting it here on the SoCal board.

I went by this evening to take some pix while it was still light outside, but the car wasn't there. I don't know if it sold already, or if the owner hadn't put it out yet. So if anyone's interested, they should prolly call the number on the sign(in the pic I posted above).

Just wondering, but how many 89 Formulas with the 350 T-top combo were made?
Wasnt there an issue with body flex?
Did the car have any areas that looked like they were hit and repaired or did it look original and straight?

The body looked excellent, not any dents at all, that I recall. The paint was fading and clearcoat peeling on the horizontal body panels(hood, decklid, spoiler), so it's possible that it's original.
But I went past there again this evening, and the car wasn't there again. So it's prolly been sold. The only way to know would be to call about it. The number is in the third pic in my original post.
And here's a link to a thread by okfoz regarding 350/t-top birds. I don't remember if he states production numbers, but I think he did mention they were most common in 1989. And I believe he also concludes that the lack of 350/t-top cars was due to fuel economy/weight issues, rather than structural issues.
