Re: Quick Cali Smog question...

The EO number means Executive Order Number, and it means the part has passed CA's emissions testing program and is now legal to install on a street vehicle in CA, or other states that are using CA's smog check program. They give it a number so it can be tracked in the computer.

As long as everything the car came with is hooked up, such as the EGR, canister, AIR pump and lines, catalytic converter, air filter housing, etc, you will pass no problem. 350's put out only a tiny bit more emissions than a 305. Just dont tell the tech you have swapped the engine; tell him its a 305.

Re: Quick Cali Smog question...

Kevin is right on the money, I'd recommend to say nothing, and he won't ask, he'll assume it's the original engine and if all your smog equipment is in place and working, it should pass. If the Cat converter is original, get some "pass or don't pay" additive in an auto parts store, just for insurance.

CARB EO numbers are for aftermarket parts (headers, intakes, etc) to be legally used on CA smogged cars. If it is a stock original part for the car, no EO number is required.

Good luck
