Everyones favorite Machine Shop here in So Cal....
Hey guys, just wanted to know where some of you get your machining done.
I just need some recommendations within an hour or so of the San Bernardino Area. Reputable shops are hard to find these days.
I am trying to find a place to build me a 355 LT1 short block...forged.
Thanks in advance for the help.

Taylor in Whittier. It will cost you, but I've never heard anything bad about his work. When you walk in you'll probably see a bunch of nice small blocks, a few flatheads, and maybe even a couple of aluminum-block race motors. Seeing that people with a lot of money into their motors are patrons is reassuring.

I don't see Jay in the staff picture, but he's the guy to talk to if he's still there. Great guy, great service. Loaned me a ring compressor(that I didn't even ask for), cleaned up my cylinders with acid(after I melted pistons all over them and other shops had told me the block might be toast) and gave me a free ring after a broke one while filing.
