Replaced some missing/cracked interior plastic pieces with good ones from the junkyard - the usual 3rd gen maintenance program

Removed the wheels, suspension, steering, engine, T56 transmission, and soon the interior. Time to get serious with the weight reduction in the name of speed.

9-bolt 1LE backing plates are hard to come by, so Lon scored big. I think I'll have to hit PAP one of these days and see if I can find some as well.

My car is still slow, still has exhaust gasket leaks, and now is leaking coolant out the back of the passenger head onto the starter.

I even have 5/8" rodends that I have used in past swaybar applications that have litterly "torn" apart. I have also had one ripout of a frame rail because there was not enough movement and it could not hold the weight of the car over time hitting dips.

Car: 92 Trans Am - Sold
I had rod ends on my old '83 GT. Yeah they did get noisy when they were worn. I too had the spot welded swaybar mount tear off while using the rod ends, and even drove to Vegas with the swaybar wired up before having it repaired. I went back to poly without any further problem. Bummer I had to change to softer springs too, the pregnant wife couldn't take it anymore. So I have to agree Poly is better for the street.

Hehehehe. Looks like Vincent may not make the next race at Fontana. A chance to nose ahead of him in the standings. Just need a quarter tank of gas instead of a nearly full tank. Also my newly installed 58mm Holley throttle body may help just a wee bit. I won't need much. Allen

leaked all its fluid out the rear seal.. must have done it early on the trip.. i was 500 miles into the trip when it busted..
if you look at it.. all signed point to no fluid.. but i personally drained almost 2 quarts out of it, it also leaked out all over the trailer when we got it on there.. but i mean there is no getting around the fact that excessive heat was the cause.
the next trans better have a better seal..

Allen if you are looking for volume.. try one of those throttle body spacers from airaid or jet... i think they are an inch thick.

Thanks guys for all the help. Actually I'm need the little extra distance so that I'm sure my throttle body opens all the way. As it is I have to really mash down hard on the throttle to get the thing to open all the way.
I figure with the extra gasket or two that should be enough to open the thing all the way easily without putting my foot through the floor board. Allen.

Vincent, I will find out next Saturday May 14 at Fontana. I really have not really got into it yet. Just drove over to Don's to burn off some of the gas. I want no more than a 1/4 tank at the track this time around.
Brandon, yes I did have to further adjust my TV cable. Everything seems OK after the drive. Allen

James, Your neighbors must love you? Why don't you work on the cars in the garage? I would be embarassed to have my car(s) apart all over the driveway. It makes the neigborhood look as bad as cars parked on the lawn. Thats what garages are for. But its your property values.
Matter of fact I rarely ever even have my garage open when I have a car off the ground inside. Besides, when I do open it and a neighbor is around, they come over BSing and I can't seem to get anything done.

Screw the neighbors. If they pay the mortgage then they can have a say. Besides if you look in the garage you see an immoble 1956 F-100 currently under the knife. The swap took only a day and done without a mess. Besides my neighbor accross the street was messing with his Z06 all day and the neibors down the street have painted cars in their garage and support their Baja habit in their driveway as well.
If you saw the prices of houses in my neigboorhood, the only thing that is hurting, is the buyer who pays almost a mil for one.....
