Car didn't pass smog
My car didn't pass smog yesterday. Does anyone have any recommendations of a place to get it diagnosis. The guy didn't say anything of having cut-outs in front of the cats. So if you guys know of a place, let me know. Thanx

If you failed on both items then it sounds like your catalytic converter is bad. Or, you could have a leaky injector. Putting a new cat on it should be enough to get it to pass.

If you have other problems with your car, yes the converter can go bad quickly.
Two ways to check for a leaky injector. Put a fuel pressure gauge on it, start, the car, verify the reading at 38-44 psi, turn off the engine, and check if the pressure drops. If the injectors are good, the pressure will hold steady. If one is leaking, the pressure will drop.
Or, check each injector with an ohm meter while they are hot (engine off). They should be between 12-16 ohms. Anything less than 10 ohms and its a bad one.
