Quick question on LACR

I know the gates open at like 5 or 5:30-ish. I've never been up there, so i got a few questions for those who have.

Do you get any "practice" runs or is it just straight race?
ET Handicap or straight lights?
Hows the general track conditions?

Never been there before, so i just thought I would ask just so I know what to expect in case i make it up there in the next couple of weeks. I wanna see how slow I really am.

i've been there once. it was on a wendsday. i got in like 5 runs, probley could have gotten in like 9 or 10 if i kept going. It's just for test and tune. track conditions, well when i went horrible i had 2.5-2.6 60fts the whole night, not traction for anyone. remember the track is also in the sky you will probley run pretty slow up there. My best in the GTA was 15.3

Well, considering I have logged well over 400 passes at LACR ... I can clearly speak on behalf of the track.

Every Wednesdays and Fridays they run Grudge (test-n-tune), but you can participate in the trophy class (be there by 7:00 PM). I have always arrived at 5:30 PM and by 7:00 PM I would have about 20 passes (depending on daily attendance). If you have a Pro car, you can run in the 1st lane with a Pro-Light. All others are on a sportsman (three amber) light. Only the trophy classes are set up as handicap (street tire and slick tire). Track conditions ... persoanlly, I believe they are just as good as Pomona. I cut better 60 foot at LACR, than any other track ... probably because I know how to read this track very well, better than the others.

The thing about LACR that alot of people hate is 1st, the elevation ... 2nd, is the traction. With LACR you must do a huge burnout in front of the water box (DO NOT GET YOUR TIRES WET, not even slicks) and preferrably on top of someone's slick patch that ran before you. This is how I have gotten plenty of low 1.7 60' out there (on my way to mid-high 12s). Good luck and have fun.

Thanks 12secSS, that's the info i was looking for. i was atually hoping that you would post mainly because I know you spend A LOT of time there and know what's up. I am actually thinking of going up tomorrow night, maybe next week though. I have to talk to the woman and talk her into letting me go. Racing isn't her idea of fun, so you know how it is, especially if I'm running my daily driver.

Also, because of the elevation should I add a little timing or take some out. I think the higher you go you take it out, but I can't remember. Normally, I run about 14* advance base so i think I should be alright, but you know, when you get a 2.8, every little bit counts.
