Well I am broke, I had to give up all my funds to help out my family and I can't buy a car now , anyone got a 3rd gen they would like to give away? Im trying to get a car to get to work and start college.

Doubt you will find much help on a free third gen. Nobody is just gonna give a third gen away, maybe try a little broader like anyone have any running car they will give away or sell extremely cheap. My suggestion is save up a little and buy a beater for a few hundred. Drive it until it dies sell it to the scrap yard and get another until you are back on your feet.

Yeah extremely cheap would be nice like that one guy that bought his for 600 bucks of his buddy. I had it all set up to buy a nice 92 firebird with a L03 and a t-5 just needed some paint and the motor had 149,000 on it it ran great though I really wanted to get it, I could have got it for about 1,400 but I don't have the money . Then like 3 weeks ago I found a really nice 92 formula with t tops and a 350 TPI and I really really wanted to get it the price started at 5,900 then went to 4,950 man oh man do I wish I had the money for that car it had 149,000 on it as well ( odd very odd) I walked down to see it when ever I could, the people trying to sell it park it during the day on the weekends on a street around here with a for sale sign in it, I think its gone now or just not being parked on the street anymore. Mostly i don't have the money because the person who was going to give me the 4,000 dollars that they promised me for all the work i did for her ( my grandmother) I did construction, landscaping, cable installation, repairs and worked on her car; Ive been changing the oil for her every 3,000 miles now so she does not have to take it to a jiffy lube and I did brakes, new alternator, took it to get new tires mounted and balanced Ive just bent over backwards for her because she promised to help me but now she says she can't afford to pay me the 4,000. BUT she bought a brand new HUGE stanless steel fridge, stove and faucet for her kitchen she is nuts she thinks she has to have all this. So im just trying to peice something togeather to get around, my great uncle gave me his toyota its an 83 tercel with 320,000 on it it needs a new clutch, struts, shocks, tires, battery and a good tune up and maybe brakes ( as is it won't do 50 mph because of the shocks) my great uncle lived with my grandmother they basicaly raised me from a baby till I was 16, he was the one that really wanted me to have my own car and a nice firebird, but he had a stroke and was still getting her to pay me the 4,000 ( I was working for her all that time) then he had another stroke. ( see the money was coming out of a loan she was getting to so she could fix up her house more than it already is, as is the house is worth 500,000 right now. But im stuck between a rock and a hard place and I dunno what to do, Im just trying to get a job right now, see my mother would not let me get a job till I was 18 because she did not want to have me ride the bus or walk or have to try and give me a ride when she works all the time. soo yeah I just needed to vent thats all. So does anyone have a 3rd gen( preferabley a firebird ) that they would be willing to sell for cheap? I was really after a 92, but right now Im just trying to find what I can I guess. UGH I just saw a mouse run across the floor, now I have to go find some traps.

How about a fouth gen 95 convertable- purple with flame job- only problems are that it won't start and the drivers door won't open. I'll get a pic and post it to see if you would be interested in taking it off my hands its been sitting for a few years collecting dust. Please keep an open mind and remember that BEGGARS CAN'T BE CHOOSERS. p.s. theres no rust!

Sorry to hear abot your circumstances.

Something to keep in mind is that if you find a cheap third gen it will more than likely be in need of some serious repair in certain areas. This will require more financial resources than you currently have. So, you'll be driving a "beater" f-body wishing you had $$$ to fix it up.

A mistake many people make is they see a car that runs decent, but has some body damage and needs interior work. They think it will be easy to restore, but body and interior repair is actually more expensive than mechanical repair. You're better off finding a car with a clean body and interior but a lame engine. A new motor can be had for as little as $600 – it won't be fast or anything, but it will run reliably.

Personally, I think I'd do as mentioned above. Get a cheap transportation car, then save up your $$$ and get a clean third gen. Hang in there!

well man, you have to buy it, it would be really hard to find one for free, in my case, i got miself a part time job while i am a student in high school, i saved up 700 dollers and i bought a 88 camaro RS, perfect condition, 305 TBI, for 500 dollars, the catch? the engine was outside the car, but i still bought it, i bought myself an engine hoist, engine stand and engine leveler and know im putting this bb back together, in the end i will have a nice third gen and all the experience and tools i bought along the way for 900 dollars, i could sell the engine hoist and call it 700 XD

I was thinking it might have been a problem with 3GO's Search engine...
(I think it sucks.)
But I did a search on "Give me a 3rd Gen" and it didn't come up with any posts older than 2010.
