'89 Firehawk.
Don't worry about what people say about your car, bottom line is that your car is like no other on the road. If it's real or fake it's irrelevant, we enjoy watching a clean firebird.

Not all of them caught fire duie to design flaws. The one I owned did about a year after I sold it but it made it almost 9 years before it burst into flames.

Re: Possible Meet? Who is Interested?
i looked at 2 firebirds today both 87's. one was a base model that someone stuffed a 400 smallblock into (http://phoenix.craigslist.org/cph/cto/4513784426.html). but it was missing both front seast, a battery, steering wheel and the center consol. so i just walked away. the other one was a 87 trans am (http://phoenix.craigslist.org/cph/cto/4538299572.html) everything works and it is in nice shape but its burning oil.... bad. he only wanted 3100 for it but my uncle who is a car mechanic said it can get real expensive real fast. because it would probably need new pistons, valves, and cam. so i think that one is out as well.
but i have a couple others to look at tommrow.

Re: Possible Meet? Who is Interested?
Hey Everyone! So every last Friday of the month, the local Pontiac Power Group, holds a small meet at Nicantonies Pizza (not the best food imo) located: 1430 w Warner rd at McQueen, Gilbert, AZ. It starts at 6, but i plan to be out there around 6:30 when it begins to cool off to around 100 degrees today. If anyone is interested and wants to come out let me know so we can park side by side!!

Re: Possible Meet? Who is Interested?
Yup, its today haha. Its pretty cool. At first back when i went i was weary of going, so my dad and i parked my car back. And went inside to eat, than i noticed a fourth gen and a older Chevy so i parked my car haha, and people thought it was pretty cool, that i was for it rather than a import. So what do you think? Coming or unsure?

Re: Possible Meet? Who is Interested?
I know its been 116* the last few days, but that 'old Chevy ' is really a Pontiac Firebird.
OK....Put down the keys, and come in out of the heat.
I live on the North Central part of the Valley...35th Ave. & T-Bird so Gilbert is too far for me. If I go a cruise- in it will be at 67th Ave & W. Bell Rd.
The first car show of the season for me will be in Flagstaff on Sept. 5th thru 7th. I have attended that show every year for the past 8 years.

Haha, i know. There was a chevy next to the blue firebird. The Firebird pulled up after the older Chevelle did. The Blue one is a 1968 400 Convertible. Its was clean haha.

Re: Possible Meet? Who is Interested?
Good question LX ... .
Nancy Perry has been a personal friend of mine for over a decade. If there are concerns about Cruise on Central, let me know & I can present them to her.
mula-lenta .... You called it... I'll be there . I'm always there by 9:30 am. Park in the shade, then have breakfast inside the Park Central Mall Cafe.
Cruise on Central is always held on the second Saturday, in April & Rocktober.
Hope to see you guys there !

Already put in for that day off of work to attend. The notchback isn't in the best condition, but it will probably be the only factory notch there.

True... The 'OFICIAL TIME' is 1-8pm. BUT... (big butt) "Early Parking Allowed".
Cars start rolling in around 8:30ish.
If you arrive at 1 pm, both North & South parking lots will be almost full, if not full already. There have been several times when the parking lots were full by noon.
If you arrive early to save spaces, the spaces that you are saving, MUST be filled or given up by 10:30 am.

Re: Possible Meet? Who is Interested?
Love ya Rod but no way in hell I'm devoting an entire day to go sit in a parking lot. We'll probably make an appearance on the upper deck of the parking garage wander around a bit and leave before it starts getting too ghetto out on Central Ave.
Last spring I was with my roomie making passes in his 02 B4C and there was a group just south of Thomas that mobbed the car and would not get out of the way until they got the burnout they wanted. It was actually pretty scary they way they went about it. I'm all for a little shenangins, but doing a burnout in a 400+ HP car with at least a dozen people standing in front of you is asking for something really bad to happen. This was just prior to the police closing the northbound side of Central.
Sadly, its this sort of behavior that kills fun events.

Spending the day on Central for me, is one big social party. I'm always walking around talking to friends , or EATING ! I also take photos for the Roddin' & Racin newspaper. It's not very often you'll see me by my Camaro.
DesertFox ... I don't have the same potential problem as you. Not much of a chance for me to spin out and loose control with my stock LG4.
I'll be at the Route 66 Car Show in Flagstaff this weekend.... Then starting next Wednesday PM, starts the new season for the Westgate Hot Rod Night. This is always a blast ! Located at the L-101 & Glendale Ave. It's a little far if you live on the East Side.
See you guys on Central.
