We're not trying to be a**holes by excluding other generations, but I guess what we're trying to do is create a specialized car club, that doesn't mean that we don't support other groups like AZFBA.

Re: Possible Meet? Who is Interested?

I have 3 3rd gen camaros... 4 4th gen camaros, only 2 are running at the moment. 2 4th gen trans ams, 3 5th gen camaros. By no means am I trying to crash your 3rd gen club bro, I'm a 3rd gen guy at heart, but my club consists of all gens of camaros/trans ams. We would be more then happy to meet with you guys and talk cars. After all we all share the same interests.

that's what were trying to do is just have a 3rd Gen club. You don't see them as often and it would be nice to have our own little club. I even have a friend that has can do club decals for us

Re: Possible Meet? Who is Interested?

I've always loved F-bodies in general. Ever since I started driving I've owned FourthGen Camaros and Firebirds, but I always wanted a 3thGen, other kids growing up dream of owning or at least driving a super car like a Ferrari or Lambo but my super car even as a little kid was a 3rdGen T/A.

See... That's when I was trying to be a member of the AZFBA club...however I had the only Yellow 3rd gen running a 335 Stroker at the time and was just getting into the car club/cruise thing.....And with the "your not a 4th gen" deal...That left a bad taste for me...and ended up being a member of the Arizona outlaw street cars... Now know has Arizonas fastest street cars....member#5... and like I said in my post....This is JUST my deal... and mine alone......

to be fair, he never said anything about 4th gens. he said 1990 (gen 3) and gen 5's

and im fine with meeting up with other firebird owners, but gen 5's i still dont like (the car, not the owners) because with gen 5's you can still just go out and buy a brand new one that would eat most of our cars and still be hungry, but for buying a gen 3 or 4 you have to put some effort into it because you first have to find them, and then do work the them. makeing them your own personal car. not just a car anyone can buy.

also dont like gen 5's because there will never be a gen 5 firebird >_>

I had to go to California for my GTA, I couldn't find one here. I paid the asking price because I had to compete with other offers. I broke down in Blythe and had to tow it the rest of the way... Long story short, the car was in the shop for 8 months because the "mechanic" couldn't make it run. I took it home and worked on it myself, I got it to run!

Having and old car is a lot of work and you have to throw in a lot of money, in two years I've spent $5000+ but I forget all about it when people turn to look at my car and give me compliments on how cool my car is.

Re: Possible Meet? Who is Interested?

89 hawk.. Tell iroc they can meet up with us, but preferably not to many 5th gens at this time. But 3rd and 4th are welcomed to join, since this is aimed toward thirdgens to make a group/club. Make sure they set a status in the event I posted on ARIZONA3RDGEN's fb so we have a base count

Yeah man, it would be awesome. A mob of muscle cars, there's nothing better then that.... That right there is making a statement. Especially for the 3rd gen scene., most of you guys are trans ams, most of my 3rd gens are camaros, best of both words, and I still have the rest of the crew. Even though we are seperate clubs we can still hit the pavs hard.

The meeting will be at the bottom of the mountain, there is a road to the left, right after the check point (Park entrance) that takes you to the parking where we will gather. March 30th 10am
ther is a pic on the event page

mula-lenta chime in brotha!!! You've seen the hawk bro.... is it clean?[/quote]

So fresh and so clean . One of the best 3rd gens that gets driven that I have personally seen. Complete and well kept.

I like the idea and props to the 17yr old 3rd gen enthusiast for (or trying to) put this together.

My formy is still down, but that's because ive been slacking. Let us know of a location and date ... if schedule allows I will make my best to attend. Either way, we should all make a great effort to at least show up the cruise (that is what im shooting for)

Oops looks like my work internet was loading to slow for me to read that the date and location is already posted. I should show up considering that I live in south central phoenix.

I dont have an FB account (long story) ... but props to yours, got a glance and love how it shows nothing but love to the third gens.

I have to give prop's to the AZFBA of today. They have really come a long way and Tom is correct. All the high school drama boys have departed and moved on to other things. I too have been a member of AZFBA since near it's beginning days. There might be more 4th Gen's, but then again if you think about it, how old are our 3rd Gen's? They are now considered collectors in the state of AZ. Just like Tom and others in AZFBA, there are some who still own 3rd Gen's as well as 4th Gen's. And everyone pretty much get's along, with an occasional joke or two. If you can handle that, then the rest is easy.

BTW, Tom, I had no idea you frequented SoCal with the cars..? But then again I have been out of the loop for awhile.

Re: Possible Meet? Who is Interested?

Great meet up today! Thanks for the invite. We were happy to help out the cause of getting more 3rd Gen's together. Looking forward to monthly gatherings. Perhaps Metro Center might be more welcoming with it's renewal on life in and around the area.
Westgate is another great idea! Cruise in and hang out at Johnny Rockets..?

We'll race the car just about anywhere we can get it to. In the last 2 years we've run it in Texas, Nebraska, Tennessee, Nevada, Cali, and AZ. Put 6000 miles on it last year on the roadtrip to run it in Tennessee. We even managed to get pictures of it parked on beaches on both the Pacific and Atlantic coasts last year. We're getting ready for the 3rd consecutive weekend running in Cali at Del Mar next weekend.

The plans for this year include the track in Nashville on the road course, Holley LSFest, and some laps at VIR. Should be a fun couple of weeks on the road with the GTA.

Oh cool. My family doesn't live too far from Del Mar. We used to goto the Del Mar horse track when the fair would come to town. I had no idea there was a race track in that area.

There isn't a track in the area. They run GoodGuys Del Mar in the Fairground parking lot. SCCA is running at the same time next weekend at Qualcomm stadium so we might scuff in the new tires on Friday with some practice laps there.

Oh that's right! I forgot our neighbor used to run his VW down at Jack Murphy (Qcomm) Stadium in the 80s.
Hey if you do run at the stadium, can you see if you can get some pic's of the action? Thanks

Re: Possible Meet? Who is Interested?

I added the PHX skyline 'cause I thought it was cool, but we don't have to have it. I also wanted a southwestern font, the point was to make something that represented the area. We're open to suggestions and ideas, after all we're all in this, is just that I have a lot of free time in front of my computer...
