Getting a feel for my cars value...
Hey Guys and gals,
I'm contemplating leaving the 3rd Gen world and going back to the First Gen Monte world.
You may or may not have seen my ride at the Cruise on Central or running around the West Valley.
You can see some pix in my album.
I'm just trying to gauge what I could get for it in todays market.
Some highlights of the car:

Not nearly as much as you think it's worth.
In essence you're got a 28 y/o car with unknown mileage on the engine. A lot of your "upgrades" are cosmetic and really add very little in the way of value.
The only pic I see is your avatar so it's hard to make a determination but guessing based on what's supplied here maybe $2500. Possibly a little less depending on interior condition and if it is determined what the "smoke on start up" is.

When I was looking for one 98% of them were junk not a lot of people are looking for a car that have been beat up for 20+ years so even if you have a good one if it is not a collector it is not worth much. I got my 91 formula for a trade of a $500 gun and it sounds about like yours lot of new stuff ever paint but with 150k and a little smoke worth nothing

If interior is clean and runs smooth I'd say 2500-2800 maybe 3200 to the right buyer, but also depends on the thirdgen market in your area

It's hard to place value on these cars. They vary so wildly in their prices and condition. I know where there is a pristine '88 IROC-Z with 5.7, T-tops and only 71,000 miles. Beautiful paint and immaculate interior with everything working. $5,800.oo. It's been on the lot for 3 months and no takers. I think that is a fair price for the car, though it is red and I'm no fan of red.
