So this Saturday I will be bringing home an 86 Camaro Sport Coupe. I have had an 87 Iroc L98 car which was stolen. Then I had built a supercharged 97 Z28 which I had to let go when I bought a house and had my daily driver die on me. So now I'm going to build up another 3rd gen. The car is a little rough, but I have an LQ4 6.0L which I am going to build along with a set of 799 (LS6) heads. And I have a 6 speed which came out of a GTO. So in the end I hope to have a very clean Iroc clone that runs low 12's or high 11's.

Nice welcome back in the thirdgen community, that sucks that your car was stolen. What part of Scottsdale you in? I'm really close to North Scottsdale, right above the 101.

Re: New AZ Member

I'm right off Scottsdale Rd. and Thomas in south Scottsdale. Yeah, at first I didn't like the 3rd gen body style, but after owning the Iroc I fell in love with it. When it got stolen I then got the 97, but instantly knew it wouldn't handle like the old Iroc. The 97 was fast, but I just never felt "at home" driving it like I did the 3rd gen.

I may hit you up when it's time to put the tranny back together. It's currently in pieces and I was told it would need some hard parts.

I have an LT1 T56 throwout bearing in the classifieds https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/engi...t-bearing.html and can get the flywheel done in a day by my local guy but will get back to you on $. Trans. builds, you never know parts needed until it's torn down but I charge $300 for labor / supplies + parts. $250 if it's actually paid on time.

That depends on what options it has and how badly you want it. Hawksthirdgen.com currently has a 90 IROC vert with 50k on the odometer for $4500 as a comparison though. Factor in another $1000 to ship it to Arizona.

That's a pretty clean car, but I agree. BIG wheels on a car like this really doesn't sit well imo.
