DIY performance in Mesa, Awesome!!!!!
Hey guys,
I tried out that the new DIY Performance place in Mesa and it is awesome!! They have every single specialty tool in the world. Onsite parts delivery, 9,000 lb atlas lifts, One of those really cool chain engine hoists mounted to the ceiling, obd 1 &II data scanners. The onsite mechanic is awesome and knows how to do just about everything and you can ask him for a consult if you get in a little over your head. They also only charge you lift or bay time when you are working on the car. If you stop and go to lunch so does the clock. I can't say enough good things about the place. I signed up for the membership which gets me 2 hours of shop labor free, a separate 5 hours of lift time free for when I do my own work and then only $10 per hour lift rental time for the rest of the year after I use up the 5 free hours. Also, get a bunch of other stuff.
Again I really had a good experience their and if you are doing a really big project like an engine swap you also get one overnight of storage free in case you cannot finish that day.
Awesome!! Awesome!! They make doing projects you once dreaded very simple. Access to air tools is also included in the lift time.

Re: DIY performance in Mesa, Awesome!!!!!
I just back from this place. It was incredible. Everything you need including a very helpful and friendly on staff mechanic (Bob). I took my 91 RS 305 TBI that I bought 2 weeks ago to change the 4 plugs I couldn't get from the top at my apartment (I couldn't jack my car up due to the asphalt parking lot). I opted to pay Bob the $65/hr to do it. In case I tried for 2 hrs myself ($40) and then had to have Bob rescue me for $65. Not sure how long it took but he only charged me for half hour. He pointed some good and bad things on my car. He also handed me the grease gun and showed where and how to grease the front fittings. Awesome place!
And they had 2 bada$$ 4th gens in the shop that I believe belonged to Bob's son(s). A red 02 SS and a black 01 Z28.

You should sign up for the membership. It really is the best deal. Glad you also had a great experience and Bob is really an awesome mechanic! Really knows his stuff. The red 4 gen is owned by Bob's son Jesse. Jesse and Bob run the place. The red 4 gen has a monster cam and tricked out Dana 60 rear axle. It sounds really mean!!
I wonder if he will fire it up for me next time
Great place and a great guy
