New Arizona Law, Effective 01 Jan 2009.

Check this out:

http://www.dot.state.az.us/MVD/Whats...tsnew_2009.asp

After I learned of this last week, I started looking at other cars' license frames. I was amazed at how many cover "ARIZONA". I betcha most, if not all of these owners don't have a clue. Sounds like another state revenue making scheme.

Knowledge is power. Pass it on.

Re: New Arizona Law, Effective 01 Jan 2009.

i read up on this a month ago, its a BS law, and becuase its the drivers responsibility to check up on state laws and follow them accordingly, they can and will pass out tickets faster than we can blink.

They claim that it interferes with the police forces new cameras theyve been whoring around that can catch your plate from across the freeway.

I dont think its right, how are people gonna express themselves without their license plate frame telling people how they love their wiener dog? lol

Re: New Arizona Law, Effective 01 Jan 2009.

Mine is bronze and has Camaro and a bowtie in it. It looks awesome when I polish it, and I just need to oxidize the inside black, and then put a nice clear on it. But I guess I need to ditch it, because it covers "Arizona" on my plate. :/

Sounds like more ways to get you money. Funny becuause most dealerships for instance have brakets that cover said part of plate.

Re: New Arizona Law, Effective 01 Jan 2009.

If you get caught, it's a $160 fine.

Look at other vehicles while you're driving around. It's amazing how many "violations" you'll see.... INCLUDING MY WIFE'S car. The law states if any portion of the word ARIZONA is covered...... the top of the "A" is. I'll have to get the dremel out and shave the frame down a little when I renew the tags later this month....

Re: New Arizona Law, Effective 01 Jan 2009.

Until two weeks ago, my Z28 was in storage for five years. It's now home for some TLC. Here's an old pic of it, the year it won its class at Super Chevy. Basically the car is in the same condition because it rarely gets driven.

And I thought the government in PA was full of idiots. Wow....................I don't even know what else to say to that.

Are you sure the A/C didn't break in your government buildings this past summer giving them all heat stroke?

No. their fat wallets are simming down so their plan is to squeeze it out of the people the old fashion way; cheating. Its not a big deal but at the same time i mean, COME ON! Is this REALLY a necessary law or are they just trying to make some fast cash off some (for lack of a better term) ignorant motorists? I think its ridiculous that my tax dollars are gonna go to people sittin on their butts thinking of new ways to cheat people out of their money. I could understand if the frames ACTUALLY interfered with the new infared cameras the PD is equipped with now but something tells me that if it really caused that much of an issue, they would have done the R&D on the cameras and decided to introduce the new law and the cameras at the same time. Seems to work fine with a frame anyway, i was driving my dads truck and DPS ran my plate 4 lanes across the US60 and he still pulled me over to "verify " i was the owner. Hes got a thick frame from the dealer and it covers airzona. Funny thing was the cop said "oh well this wont pass after january"

BTW Willie the vert looks good

Re: New Arizona Law, Effective 01 Jan 2009.

one day the free way just turned into a survalance control grid. It's all about sucking and feeding off americans with money paying taxes isn't good enough for them. those cameras scan you plate even when you not speeding. even though you've done nothing wrong thats a violation of the 4th amnd. Now the cops can even pull you over and stick a needle ln your arm to suck blood out of you. It's gittin freaking crazy here maybe this is why Janet got the DHS deal?

Re: New Arizona Law, Effective 01 Jan 2009.

LOL, I had to take my "Hot rod, power tour 2007" Frame off. It covered the "Arizona" and the month and year. Bummer! The cover on my IROC is totally clear, so no problem there.
I was told that ONE of those DPS mobile camera vehicles (Located at litchfield and I-10 in the median, construction zone, so double fines.) Made 7,000 dollars in ONE DAY!!! I guess they have to fix the budget somehow.... Sad.
