What a way to enjoy your anniversary

Man,
Don't try this at home!
Yesterday, was our (Lisa and me) 14th anniversary being together.
We decided to go out to lunch, which is kinda rare, but she is unemployed right now, so we can.
Being that yesterday was to be 70% rain, we decide to go for an early lunch.
No big deal, just about a mile or two drive to get there.
Driving her car, which is an everyday driver, we go thru an intersection on a green light.
Well, someone else decided to go across at the same time!
Too bad his light was red!
He decided to use our car as his brake, I guess.
Lucky for us, he admitted to us, and the two Police Officers who showed up within minutes, that he ran the red.
Too bad for us, as her car got damaged pretty bad.
Now, as for her car, it is a red 1991 Firebird with the Sport Appearance package, that I have been adding on some goodies.
Like a 1987 Formula hood, with the off set hood budge.
A 1991 Formula rear hatch with the wrap around rear Trans Am type spoiler.
1984 front 15th Anniversary Trans Am Recaro seats.
And the last thing, my spare set of 16 inch GTA gold wheels, with brand new two week old on the wheels, Goodyear 245 GSCs.
Her car got hit right behind the driver's door, which got smashed in pretty bad.
We want to save the car, and alot of parts are no longer available.
Lucky for me, I have alot of parts, so we may just be able to save her.
As for the crash, I saw the other car last minute, and leaned into the center of the car, over the center console.
Didn't help much, as the impact threw me against the door and door glass.
I didn't black out or anything, and didn't go to any doctor.
I feel fine, but today, I am sore.
I'm not one to sue people, and will not do so.
Like I said, we just want the car fixed, not totalled.
It may be close, and if so, we will buy the car back.
If she was working, she may have tried to collect, and get another Bird or Trans Am. But, she's not, and wants her car.
We should find out within a week or so.
The good thing is, that we can still drive the car.
Seems to be OK in that sense at least.
Here's a few pictures:

I'll keep you updated on this (only to those who care).
By the way, she is fine, just cried when and after we got hit.
This is her second car, and her fist car got hit and totalled too.

At least the both of you are ok. After that, the car can either be fixed or replaced, humans cant. Well, not like cars, anyway. good luck on the repairs.

Bummers! Probably was on Stockton Blvd, eh? Getting crazy traffic there with the congestion, especially at the Walmart signal... Good thing you were driving too...

Glad you're both OK and didn't tangle with one of the 6-ton F-heavies that seem to be so common here in Kingman.

Damage looks backyard fixable, but labor being as insanely high as it is now, I betcha the estimates go over $2K and the insurance co will probably write it off. Question: if it's a write-off and you keep the vehicle and fix it, will the insurance co insure it again? Or will you be in some sort of insurance limbo ...

Re: What a way to enjoy your anniversary

Hi Duck!
It happened on Willow and Airway.
I was on Willow, going towards the park, and the guy ran the red on Airway, using me as the brake.
damage is way over 2 grand, and may be totalled. Lucky for me, I added all those Trans Am parts, so the value of the car should be more.
If it is totalled, we will buy it back, and have a salvage title on it.
It will still be able to be insured, I checked already.
Sad thing is, the guy who hit us, had a very small child in the car!
You would think that having a child would make you more aware of things around you. It doesn't, people drive just the same, stupid!
They left their car in the street, and I drove across the intersection, to get out of the way.
They both got out of the car, and came over.
I was watching people drive by, and slam on the brakes, as they were looking across the street at me and my car, then realized there was a parked car in their lane, and had to stop suddenly.
I told the lady to go more the car, and then she told us she had a child in the car!
Their car could have been hit again, only from the rear.
At least my insurance won't go up! It wasn't my fault.
