I had the ability to attend the TTA gathering in Ohio 2 years back. Have some cool pictures and videos if your interested. Many of the folks that had a hand in the project were present as well. Their stories were the best part of the day.

Couple more days untill g17! Ill start cleaning the z28 this week. I' picking up my T5 conversion on tuesday and am debating on installing it before the show or not. I dont want to risk not being able to finish the swap before the show.
Some eyecandy from last year.

Parking map is up, only 8 designated TGO parking spots. In the Nose Bleed section to boot. I figured we would have more parking spots based on all the response on the forums here... Did a bunch of people forget to put down TGO as their group on registration?
On the bright side they did put us next to Vengeance Racing so we will have some pretty cool cars next to ours.

I thought we would have a bigger turn out also.
A lot of tgo members are involved with other clubs and have been parking with their groups for many years. We probably create more of positive impact then is apparent from a the numbers of people parking with us.
If Tony gets his daughter's 4th gen running well in time, that will be one more. Since there is general parking directly accross from us, any late arrivals can park there and still join the group. Luke will have his car finished next year, so that will make one more for G18.

Thanks for making me feel welcome. We only have 3 employees at our local airport and the manager is going to be recovering from an operation. Looks like a no go for me this year. I hope to make it next year.

There are several general parking spots directly accross from the tgo assigned spots. If it becomes a problem I'll move my two cars over there and free up two of the eight assigned spots. The tgo group usually overflows by several extra attendees. It's all good.

That is a great spot guys. We get extra room up in the grass to party, and I'll bet Kevin can find a nice shady place to take a nap. Hoping we had more registrations, but it seems to be the norm that we get last minutes so it is good that we have extra parking across. My car wont be together until probably Friday.. so save me a spot lol

Re: F Body Gathering Atlanta Memorial Weekend May 24-27
From Kevin's Facebook picture, he may be too busy changing baby diapers to sleep during the daytime. Give us the update Kevin?
Jordan, I am feeling your pain. Amanda blew out her the center of her O2 sensor yesterday. Actually, I think it just fell out. It sounded like a pulpwood truck. The check engine light has been flashing every so often, and I had bought a new sensor to replace it. After trying for hours to get the new one tightened up with a 7/8 boxed wrench, I went to NAPA this am and talked to the know-it-all can. Really, it was the sales person who suggested that they make a special socket for that job. OK, so now that is added to my collection of tools. Hopefully, the new socket will make the job it go faster.
The 82 is still in pieces all over the garage. After I get the power window motor replaced on the passenger door, than I will put the interior back together. The NAPA can get me to some good advice on that one also. The dye job turned out good. It is all the same color now, and matches the color chip in the order manual. Than I have to fix a leak in the freon system, vac down the AC and recharge it.
After that I have to change the oil in the F-350 and rebuild the brakes on the car trailer. Than everything has to be cleaned up. After that I have a honey do list for Betty. The honey do list will take about 10 hours. I guess I will work on that tonight. Plug in the coffee pot... I don't need to sleep anyway.... IT HAS TO BE DONE TONIGHT BECAUSE THE HOUSE SITTER WILL BE HERE TOMORROW, AND BETTY WILL DIE IF THE SITTER SEES THE HOUSE IN ITS NATURAL STATE!
At 4PM I have to pick up the dogs from the groomer, clean the dog kennel, and the cat boxes. I guess I had better get to it, and quit talking about it.
I must be crazy to think that I could get two cars ready and bring both of them to G-17.
I need about two more weeks.
Some how or another it will all work out.

Geez Charles, I just have to put one car back together!
If you have a u-joint for your wrench it should be easy going with the socket. Or if you are under it, should be pretty easy I believe.. trying to remember, stock exhaust has been gone a while. Save some coffee for me, all nighter wed.. maybe thurs, you with me?! lol

That fancy special socket with the slot to allow the wire to hang out of the side was the trick. Access to the sensor from the bottom is not possible. You can see it, but there is no space to work with it. That NAPA Know-It-All talking can is pretty sharp!
I've got the new power window motor mounted on the base and loosely mounted back in the door. Those things are tougher then I remembered. Of course the last time I changed one in an F-body, I was a lot younger and 50 lbs lighter. At least the NAPA folks included grade 8 bolts and screws to replace those goofy rivets that GM used. Those talking cans are smart! I replaced some dry rotted rubber parts on the door, and the time to do that is definitely when the window is out of the door.
Well it is time to get back at it...

Charles, put some thread lock (RED!) before you button the door back up. They will eventually loosen up, even with the lock nuts. I have some of the rivets as well if you feel like being silly, but good luck finding a rivet gun to put em on with, there are too hugemungous for a normal rivet gun.

The Talking Can, I mean good folks at our local NAPA told me the same thing. The door is back together, and the interior is about 1/2 way installed. The window works like a new one. The dye job looks great! The inside looks like a brand new 1982.
The A/C system is fixed and is vacuuming down right now. Got the old jug of 134A and gauge set ready for when I get back. The PO had the system converted in 2012 because the evaporator went bad.
Got to stop for a while to go pick up the dogs from the beauty shop. The dog groomer is also our house sitter, and she is going to follow me back here to orient her to the house. I should get back to the car about 7PM.

Its 11:35 PM. The interior is back in the 82. A few odds and ends in the morning and the car will be ready to load in the trailer. Got a lot done today. It was a productive day.
Betty likes the 82 so well that she tried to trade me her 08 Crown Vic for it. Uh, NO, but it would be cool to trade the vic for a 2013 2SS.
I think that I am going to bring the 82 with me on Thursday, than pick up the 86 on Friday.
Jordan, are you any closer?

Re: F Body Gathering Atlanta Memorial Weekend May 24-27
Good to hear Charles. I'm where I was hoping I would by uhh.. the weekend before last, so right on time as far as things are going. I had to buy another brand new grill since I destroyed the last one. But I got it painted last night, and finished polishing out my new emblems Monday and sealed those in clear when I did the grill. So I'll get the hatch/rear end lined up and back together tonight.. doors and front end tomorrow and clean on Friday? I should be good so long as I didn't loose anything in the process or did not get something that was destroyed in the accident.. maybe missing some headlight bar pieces but I'm not sure until I try to put it together.

Re: F Body Gathering Atlanta Memorial Weekend May 24-27
Jordan, Hopefully there won't be too missing or damaged parts. You have done an impressive rebuild on your car. I can't wait to see it. The level of skill that you demonstrate is far beyond anything that I am capable of. I can paint and can do minor body work fairly well, but pulling quarter panels and getting them straight with all of the lines and margins to factory specs takes talent that not many people possess.
Today will be odds and ends day. I can't decide if I should detail the cars here, or wait until at the hotel to do it. Even towing with an enclosed trailer, the cars get dusty while riding. Others who tow have told me that they have the same problem. My trailer is old and does not have an escape door, so I leave the driver's T-top out. That makes getting into and out of the cars much easier, but leaves the cabin open to get dirty. I may try putting the t-top in, and the car cover on to see if that cuts down on the dust.
Charles

Re: F Body Gathering Atlanta Memorial Weekend May 24-27
Who's planning to arrive on Thursday?
I'm planning to arrive at the hotel around 4 PM.
I hope to get the canopy up Thursday, mainly because I won't have to fool with it again. Does everyone want the canopy on the grass if there is room for it? I remember trees close to the curb in that area of the parking lot? Or am I confused again? For those who this is their first year, the canopy is 12 x 20.
I plan to leave the hotel early Friday, and plan to be back at the hotel around 6 PM.

We'll be there sometime tomorrow after lunch. Backed out of the OK trip and after seeing what happened out there, we're glad we didn't go. We were planning on being in Claremore on Monday and Tuesday which is about 60 miles northeast from Moore. Our other stop was Little Rock which also was hit with large hail and tornadoes just not as bad as OK. I'll check back here in the AM before we leave so if there is anything you need just let me know and I'll try and take care of it before we leave. See ya'll soon. Danny

Still not comfortable bringing the '86 that far. Was hoping she'd have made it this time. Didn't register early either because of not knowing which car was coming. If we can park with you guys, we'd love to join ya....in a 5th gen?!?!?

Re: F Body Gathering Atlanta Memorial Weekend May 24-27
Glad you had a great time and got back home safely. Thanks for the pictures. They turned out well. We had a wonderful time this year.
Luke and I got both cars back to NC without any problems. The 82 did break loose from its tiedowns about 1/2 way back home, but did not damage anything. I could feel it moving inside of the trailer and stopped. It was resecured and the trip was completed without any other issues. Amanda ran flawlessly the whole trip. We arrived in NC at 1500. Regrouped swapped cars and had Luke at home by 2100. Dropped off Woody's parts at 2230. Arrived at Carrolton at midnight. Betty and I will drive to Valdosta in the am.
Thanks so much to Luke for helping me.
Thanks to Danny for all of your help.

Re: F Body Gathering Atlanta Memorial Weekend May 24-27
Jordan, the best part of G17 was your class winner award. You worked hard on your car and it shows. We all I realize that you will take it further, however it looks great as is. Next year you will most likely have the car nearly as perfect as it can be. Congrats Jordan on your well deserved win! Don't worry about those hatch struts. The fellow I was going to pass them to
installed my old ones. Without the weight of that big rubber spoiler the struts have the ability
to hold his hatch up ok. We swapped an early bird wing onto his hatch and it looks pretty
good. Thanks, but no please don't ship them. Maybe someone else can use them.

Re: F Body Gathering Atlanta Memorial Weekend May 24-27
Well we made a very uneventful trip back, thank goodness. I stayed very tired the entire time so I'm sorry I wasn't out socializing much. After a trip to the ER on Friday and a Dr. visit they seem to believe that too much caffeine causing me not to sleep is the cause of my lethargic feeling. Just take more Xanax and less Pepsi should be the cure LOL. Glad to see everyone made it home safely. We had a great time as usual. Congrats to everyone that got their plaques for winners and runners up.
Charles we appreciate you bringing up the tent and all the things you do to help set up out little TGO deal. The webmasters should appreciate it as well.
Good to see everyone again and great to see new faces this year. It seems the third gen crowd is getting larger and their cars are looking better every year. Hopefully next year(?) we will have even more and nicer cars to represent the nearly forgotten step child generation.
Thank all of you that have posted pics as I didn't take many at all this year and they are actually still in my camera.
Coolwheels and jhainer, you have friend request coming. Good to meet you and see you there helping represent third gens.
