Re: Florida Gathering!!
Sounds like a great event -- if anyone wants to cruise up from the Merritt Island/Melbourne/Cocoa area, let me know. Would love to meet some locals, and it would be a nice cruise to the gathering.
Thanks to the organizer! I'll put it on my calendar today!

Re: Florida Gathering!!
For those of you who want to come out but feel your ride is too embarrasing, BRING IT! I was embarrased to bring mine out before too, but was always happy that I did. Work in progress cars are always nice to look at too.
I was also thinking of bringing name tags to put username, actual name, and car together so as to make everyone easily identifiable.

Re: Florida Gathering!!
I think that's a great idea. I've got my car running now, just have to work on minor details like a steering column rebuilt I'm working on, etc.

I'm glad the person with the ugliest car realizes and admits it , just kidding. While everyone else is making theirs better, i'm making mine worse by running into trash bags/cones on the highway and playing demo derby with my bird and my other cars.

Admitting it does not mean that I am satisfied leaving it that way, hahahahha!
Unfortunately, other than keeping it functional its back burner until the money comes in.

Re: Florida Gathering!!
Thanks for asking CB. I want to replace the injectors 'cause I'm running the 19lbs from the 305 right now. I also need to replace the plastic lenses on my digital dash, fix a water leak around the T-tops, and I need a couple of tires and I need to check and clean the brakes really good.
It really needs a paint job as you can tell from the pics and video on my signature but I don't know when that will happen.

Re: Florida Gathering!!
I find I continually have more time than money so I am always doing the hard way (which works out cheaper for me.)
I'll be switching tempo up to 2 at a time this week when I start on my IROC!
Thanks again to loneroad, the track bar brace in that pile of parts saved me again!

Well, hopefully I will still have mine now that I paid for the concession and booked a campsite. I'm trying to hold on to her until then, and if I do...I plan to have a 4 SALE sign on her. Either that, or someone better fix the damn thing for me while I'm there!

I don't know. Mine looks like a royal POS on the outside. I was really hoping to get to do at least a quick cheap paint job before the meet, but I have so much going on right now that is draining every spare minute and dime I have that I doubt paint will happen. The car is fully functional and running absolutely great, so I'll be there. I'll just be ugly, lol.

I'm hoping to have it finished, but if not, oopsy so what. As long as you aren't just letting it deteriorate, we're all cool!

During the eye I was up on the roof nailing down 2X4s over blue tarp as fast as I could. Barely finished before the other side of the storm nailed us. Minimized the damage, but still wound up with a mess.

Re: Florida Gathering!!
Yep, worse than that. It's not deteriorating though, there's no rust. But some of the car is a fading blue, some is a fading black, and then there's the spots that looks like bird crap running down the side because of some chemicals I used on the roof. Under the hood and the underside of the car is all painted and polished though, lol.

Did I meet you at the Sunshine State rally early this year? And you had no car 'cause your man broke it? Was that you?

Thanks. I have a gun though and am a tech at a (cough) Ford (cough) dealership so I can use the paint booth here at work. I just need to get some money and time and make it happen.

Kind of. It does look like it, but then there's the sound. Car has long tubes, solid roller cam, makes at least 430 hp and has 2.5" true dual with an X pipe and ends right after the X with no mufflers. So you can definitely listen to it and tell its not a 305. But I have had a few people try me like it was a stock 305. The corvette guys are fun to play with.

Many moons has it been since I last donned the uniform of a soldier. :-)
I indeed "were" in the military, but alas, those days have passed. Once a soldier, always a soldier though! And I have the tattoos to prove it! Will they take this for ID at the gate?
