Florida, 4/28, Old Town Chevy event
The Bowtie club is hosting a Chevy event at Old Town on 4/28. It would be great if we could pull together and put on a strong showing. So come on you central FL 3GOers! Let's dominate Old Town! Any 3GOers that show up and notify me in advance that are over 21 get a free beer (or two, or three, depending on #'s!). Seriously. Under 21 gets a free soda or maybe an ice cream , or maybe a ticket for that slingshot thing that makes men scream like schoolgirls. That might be fun....
Now let's get those 20+ year old F-Bodies roaring and ready to roll! Woo!

That doesn't happen to be you in you avatar picture is it? I have a friend who is from Lakeland but lives in Corpus Christi, TX and he looks just like Farva from Super Troopers...very similar to your avatar picture. He also works at Home Depot.

Unfortunately, that's just a guy from the newest Dukes of Hazzard movie. He wears the armadillo armor helmet to keep the CIA from reading his mind. I just thought it went well with my user name as well as my goofy perdonality. Lol

Being its a Chevy event, u think us trans am owners would be welcome? I would be willing to make the drive up to hang out for the day. The GTA hasn't been out of town in a while.

Neither are mine, but I don't care, LOL. Well, after dark I DO have LEDs in the engine bay of the Z28 that lights up under the fuel rails, looks awesome, but that's about it... :-)

For the 'Bird folks...
The show is for Chevys only, however the TA guys can park in trophy row with the regular Saturday pre-1975 cars. They will be just around the corner from us. Or they can park with you in the show but not register for trophies or door prizes. We will find some place safe for them, not in with the general population.

Re: Florida, 4/28, Old Town Chevy event
Looks like we may have a decent group going! Now, I just have to paint my cars before 4/28 so as not to embarass myself too badly. Who's helping? Nobody? Not even for access to my garage fridge full of beer?

Also we should definitely allow the bird to be mixed in with the camaros, we all know that they are really the same car so what does it really matter. We should also do it in Daytona Beach, nice place, like to go back.

Re: Florida, 4/28, Old Town Chevy event
This is a 'Chevy' event so we won't be the only ones there... the organizers are cool with 'birds coming along, and they can join in and park with us, they just won't be eligible for awards or prizes. So yes, 'birds are most(ly) welcome!

Re: Florida, 4/28, Old Town Chevy event
Not a problem. Just bring your materials! I have a cheapo gun, haven't used it yet, I'll testing it out over the weekend to see how it shoots, I may opt to get a better gun if it's crap. Anyway, if you are serious PM me on this so we don't hijack the thread. It's too bad I don't have a better garage, I'd say let's have a paint party!

Looks like we'll have a decent little group showing up!
Anyone that's interested, I'll probably be hitting there Friday evening too and getting a room for Friday night, and join in on the Friday night cruise.
Anyhoo, looking forward to meeting ya'all and hanging out with some 3GOers!

Re: Florida, 4/28, Old Town Chevy event
I'm definitely coming up. What time are we meeting up?

Re: Florida, 4/28, Old Town Chevy event
I guess it formally begins at 1PM. What about gathering nearby, say at the burger king next door, then we all take the short ride to Old Town together? Bunch 3GOers all pulling in at once sounds cool (to me!) and pretty much ensures we'll be parked as a group. All the easier to gather everyone together for the free beer!
We can stay until the cruise at 8:30 PM even though the show ends at 5, but we are too 'new' so we can't cruise, no biggie, you just drive the loop down Main Street anyway. It IS fun so I will be there Friday night, all 'muscle' cars, any year, can cruise friday night. Anyone wants to join me let me know. The hotel there the rooms are reasonable, and pretty much 2BR setups (living room area with a pullout sofa and a murphy bed, and then a bedroom with a full, or was it two full beds? and a kitchen). So if anyone wants to share a room, that's cool, but hands off my wife
The hotel there is also convenient if anyone decides to try to down one of those 100 oz beers... and no, I ain't buyin' those.
Let me know what everyone wants to do!

It was definitely fun. Even my Ford buddy had fun around all the Chevy's. Gotta meet up there on a Friday night one weekend to do the cruise.

Re: Florida, 4/28, Old Town Chevy event
So you and Tater made it home OK? Cool.
How did the rest of the night go? Kelly keep you guys entertained?
For the board, AAA and his buddy were nicknamed "Tater" and "Salad" by Kelly Fromme, the guy raffling off the Veteran 1 Gen 5. Kelly kept us entertained after the show was over. Quite a character.
April's Z died on the 417 on the way home. Went back out today and got it home. Turned out to be the ICM. The road ranger dude pulled up while I was standing there with the HSR plenum off and the Dizzy in pieces, he says "I'm not going to be much help am I?" LOL.
