Re: Gulf Coast 3rd Gens

ok guys, im going to call demans85 soon, he tried to call me last night but my neighbor is in the hospital and i was visiting so i didnt have my phone on me, but anyway im going to ask him what day is better for him, im thinking more about sunday depending on when the game starts and ends on saturday as i want to watch the game and im sure my friend that has a 3rd thats coming with me will be watching the game also, since its on a sunday we may do it a little early than once thought, lets see what uncletom has to say, it seem that most of us are up for anytime, looks like we have dmans85, navyCM, my friend, and me so far, 4 is better than none, plus we can get a chace to get to know each other better over a good holiday dinner, be able to figure out other good ideas for meets that will work with everyone, maybe making one FAR in advance to people can adjust there time to make it.

Re: Gulf Coast 3rd Gens

Its all good y'all. There were just more oysters for me on the last scheduled meet. Look forward to next meetup whenever it may be. Will have to be next year as the rest of Dec is full enough for me.

Everyone have a blessed and safe holiday season.

PS, can somebody quick tell me if the square cutout in the rear headlight assembly faces down or up (down I imagine, but I'd rather look stupid for asking)

Re: Gulf Coast 3rd Gens

I`m still around and interested uncle tom.Your right, this time of year is tough, with work and family obligations.Worse than that I`m fixin to start working a shutdown right before or right after x-mas.12 hours a day 7 days a week for 6 to 8 weeks. It sucks, but can you say....overtime.I will make it to some events.Stuffs just been fubar`ed lately.Got my car running right, but trans has me a little worried now.I knew it wouldnt last forever behind new engine.Maybe get a probuilt kit installed with stall and cooler after this O.T.

Re: Gulf Coast 3rd Gens

im fixin to get a price quote on making decals for the back window that say,

GULF COAST THIRD GEN'S
WWW.THIRDGEN.ORG
i have been told i can get a multi decal discount, its a high quality white vinyl, its used in comercial uses like for DOT, MC, etc numbers on tractor trailers and lettering for like company trucks, i belive its a 8 year vinyl in 100% outdoor conditions. can do any color, chrome letters are for indoor use so i would advise not going with chrome, and i will get a better price if i stick with white, so far i got me and a friend that want them, if i can get a number of how many people want them i will get a price quote based on that number and pass the price along

Re: Gulf Coast 3rd Gens

oh there is no pic just text of how it will look, im sure in will be under 25, i think it was $13 for just the www.thirdgen.org , but not sure about adding more, it go by ft, and since the gulf coast third gens will be above the www.thirdgen.org i would think that it would still fall under the "X" amount of feet, and btw we are making it to fit between the plastic bolt caps that are on the top of your back glass (two on each side) on your hatch, that will make Gulf Coast Third Gens aprox 21-22 inchs long, and the www.thirdgen.orgwill be centered under that.... i will get a price and MAYBE get mine done over the weekend, get the guy to store the design on a disk so i dont have to pay again to re-design it, but i will get a price to cut 6 of them and then divide the price up and tell yall what it will set each of us back.

once again the cards to put on windshields, i will work on when i get some time, i dont have a card program on this new computer so it will take awhile but it is in the works, just going with a camaro symbol and a t/a symbol then the "gulf coast third gens", the web site, with a description of the web site like "TGO offers outstanding advice and support for third gen owners" and im puting my contact number just incase the person has no net at home.

BTW Brian, i beet you are missing your car LOL, o well it will be worth it when they are done i guess....on the black plastic part that your headlights mount in all i can tell you is there is a rectangle hole that the plastic part that holds the aim screw for the up and down aim on your headlight, that goes on top, there is a round hole in the back that looks like its the size of a quarter (give or take) that is on the bottom and on the back, i hope that helps

Re: Gulf Coast 3rd Gens

Just an idea to throw out there. Outside of Birmingham near the GA. border at a walmart there is a huge cruise in in Springville on every third saturday of the month. Least a hundred cars last time i went. THey go early afternoon to past dusk. Know its a drive and a half for everybody. I'm going regardless, though still in truck. The more the merrier.

Re: Gulf Coast 3rd Gens

checking on copyright today, just emailed JT,

as for the trip to B'ham, i still say as we talked about on the phone is anyone else wants to go we need to ride in as few cars as possible and maybe split the gas with whoever we ride with, i will see how $$$$$ is with me, and go from there, thats a short trip to me (but i used to drive trucks LOL)

as for our local meet umm 19th works for me i guess, thats cool with me....lets say THE 19th WE MEET UP!!!!!!!!!!!!! ok lets figure out where and when..... im still up for the idea of eating somewhere, but got an idea for that, not everyone wants to spend $$$$$ to eat out, so lets call the a social event after the meet, if you want to go enjoy a dinner you can go, if not then its ok with me, i just enjoy a good dinner and drink with friends. i figure we can meet up at a big parking lot somewhere or a city/county park, or a private place if we got the OK

IDEAS WHERE?? i will be on the look out, lets try to get the mobile area this time, next time we will get the MS area

still need a business card template for my computer to make the cards any help or ideas where to get one for free to cheap LOL

Re: Gulf Coast 3rd Gens

I will most likely be in Mobile on the 19th. Not 100% sure yet.

Nothing on my car has changed since we met at Cruisin the Coast. I have a sway bar sitting around I have not installed. I have just recently started messing with the Malibu again and it is gonna be taking my money for a little while.

Edit: I would say Mobile Dragway is a good place to meet, but they are not having an event the 19th.

Re: Gulf Coast 3rd Gens

if you could make it on the night of the 18th they are having test and tune/ grudge racing. it starts at 7 PM, or 8 PM. its $10 to get in and $5 more to run. i go out there all the time with my other car and run sport compact, and it can get busy, just to warn you guys.

Re: Gulf Coast 3rd Gens

i second that, sounds cool........ as for the part of the group that eats dinner at the meets would you want to eat before, or go to like waffle house after since it would be late, yall know i pretty much dont care when or where, just as long as everyone can afford to get in, BTW that $10 is per head not per car. if there is a problem with switching then let us know on here, if we dont do this i say we meet up on Airport near the TGI fridays, in a big parking lot, maybe like at Harbor Freight or Brunos, during the day on the 19th and then the dinner crew can go from there.

Re: Gulf Coast 3rd Gens

you all know me i dont care. im the biggest promotor of this. we have lost as many as we have gained in the past few monthes. i really have wanted this club to grow by leaps and bounds and it hasnt happened.

i would love to see a this become a full fledged 3rd gen club. but w/o meets and getting out to those who own are cars its not going to happen.

i know it hard trying to get locals involved b/c they dont car enough about our rides as we do, if they did they'd be on here.

ive set back quietly since this got taken off the ground and the interest has not taken off like i had expected.

dont get me wrong i love the fact that we have gotten a few new people since this all started but we have also lost the core group that this started w/.

let seriously do this for real and not just talk about it on here.

there are no clubs in are area for us so we will be the ground breakers. i see so many older folks w/ there culbs for 60/70s musle cars.

why cant we have one for our generation......................

there im donr venting!
