Greenville get together??

Anyone up for a get together next weekend, like the 17th or 18th? Seems to be a pain to get guys together but I'm sure I can come down if there's any takers. Hooters? Kevin Whittaker?

Ed

PS: I'll give 1LE rides!!!

Looks like everyone's dying to get together.

Anyhoo, wifey wants to fly home and see the 'rents so I'm out.

Any other dates available or people interested? How 'bout any weeknights for cruise-ins?

Ed

Hey Ed,
I'd be interested in a cruise-in. It just seems that getting interest stirred is a problem.
I definitely want to experience the 1LE ride. My '92 is going to need some upgrades in the future. It would be nice to have some points/memories for reference.
I'll keep tabs on this thread. Maybe eventually we can get something rolling.

Well, I finally get my car back on Monday w/a reman. engine and a new set of headers. I was out of town last week so I didn't really have a chance to reply. School starts for me in a couple of weeks, so my weekends are about to be eaten up by homework (gag), but I'll do my best to make it!

Later,
Craig

Actually, I ended up going to a place called Dr. Motorworks in Greer. They're actually a national chain of engine installers. It ended up being cheaper for me plus they gave me a 3 year 100,000 mile warranty on the thing. It's just a remanufactured engine kinda like what was in it, but bored to 355. They also cleaned some of the parts they would be reusing (mostly intake stuff) so it's like having a brand new engine. I ended up sticking w/the TPI since it would cost quite a bit more to go carb. And I had them install a set of Heddman shorty headers while the engine was out. Can't wait to have it back again!

Any updates on when we want to meet?

Later,
Craig

So how much did they charge? Wonder if I could get a 350?

I just got the new Scoggin-Dickey catalog and I'm in love. They have a drop in TPI crate motor that dynos at 357 Hp @4200 RPM and 416 ft/lbs torque @4200 RPM. Price is $3399.95 and it's ALL NEW with warranty, etc. This may be the answer to my Vortech head swap I've been thinking about...pull current engine, install new one. Much easier IMO.

Anyhoo, back to topic. Anyone want to meet this week in the evening or sometime next weekend? Let's see what we can do.

Brad, the whole thing (installation and everything) was $3000. That doesn't include what I spent on the headers ($300), but it does include installation ($55 for welding, etc). It would have been nice to upgrade to that crate motor, but I just don't have the money/skills for that right now and I needed the car back since it looks like my brother is going to start driving the truck.

The 17th sounds good to me too. Just need to decide where.

Later,
Craig

No decsions on where and what time yet? If we don't hurry up and decide then the meeting will never take place! Around 6 is a good time for me, but i don't know all that much about greenville so an easy to find place would be a great idea.

So we're looking at 6PM on Saturday the 17th in Greenville somewhere?

I agree with Gator, if we can't peg down a time by the lastest Thursday afternoon then you can't count on anyone showing up.

Rock Hill would be a little too far of a drive for me this weekend. We could all meet up in the parking lot that is right bellow hooters and then just play it by ear from there. Does that sound good?

Sounds like a winner. The parking lot is the staples parking lot which is right below hooters.

Brad! My man, what happened!? Once again we only had 2 cars show!

Anyway, we need to plan the next one farther in advance and maybe advertise in the paper or something if we expect to get this thing off the ground.

Oh, and Gator (Mark?), my email is craig2@myself.com .

Catch you all later (maybe at the Kevin Whitaker cruise next weekend?)
