Greetings from Third Gen roundup!

I wanted to take the time to keep you informed of some important
information regarding this year's roundup, with the hopes that you'll be
able to join us.

1. *This year's roundup will be held in Downtown Austin on May 17th. * The official meeting place is El Mercado at 1702 *Lavaca, but we all know that 99% of the visiting will be with our cars. * We have reserved the top floor of a nearby parking garage, which is located between 16th and 17th
street (enter from Colorado) We can park on any of the top two floors. If it's warm that day, I will recommend that everybody park on the floor below the top level at first for visiting, and then we can move to the top floor later for our group shot.

2. We will meet at 1PM and probably wrap up with all official business like the photoshoot by 5, but if you're having fun visiting and talking, nobody is going to kick you out.

3. *Speaking of the Photoshoot, not only are we going to take another group shot (always popular and widely shared on Facebook) but each car will have the option of having an individual shot from the top floor of the garage, using the beautiful state capitol as a background. * The shots from the photoshoot will be provided to you free of charge via email after the roundup.

4. *Because we are using downtown property, there is a $7 charge per car for use of the garage. *this is payable to the parking garage attendant upon arrival.

5. *As is the tradition the last two years, we will have an informal car show, inviting all registered participants to vote on their top 5 third gens at the Roundup. * No class breakdowns, no criteria, of you like it, vote for it!

6. *If you are coming from the north, all North Texas Guys (and girls) wanting to be a part of the official caravan to Austin should meet at the Braums in Hillsboro (exit 368A, southbound frontage road) between 9:30 and 10 for breakfast. We will attempt to pull out of there around 10:30 to leave for Downtown Austin. *If that's too far for you, just be waiting by 11:45 in the southbound State Rest area (exit 282) just south of Salado and we'll be there as close to 1145 that we can, make a short pit stop to get all the cars bunched up again, and be back on the road very shortly. We hope you all can join us! I'll post on the Roundup page on Facebook when we are pulling out of Hillsboro, so in about 1:15 (without traffic) we should be arriving at the rest area.

7. *Third Gens only on the top floor please, or at least in the main meeting area in the middle. That's where we will have our group shots done. Other cars are allowed of course, but we ask that you not park in the "third gen only area" there are plenty of other areas to park. * That will make things go a lot faster for organizing the group shot

8.* We will have a number of "Garage Art" poster available for purchase at the roundup.** These are photo quality 11x17 posters of the 2011 group shot, the 2013 group shot, and the famous "Texas Flag" roundup Logo.** The price is $2 each, or 3 for $5, which is an unbeatable price for photo quality prints

There is also going to be a small group waiting from Waco in the Brookshire brothers parking lot before 1115 to jump in the caravan as we pass by. (exit 323, southbound access road)

I have not been on the boards for quite sometime but coming back around as time has allowed me to start getting my Z28 finalized. It won't be at the show but I'll be there...count me in. Looking forward to seeing all the badass 3rd gens!

Today is the day! Last minute reminders:
1. $7 to park in the parking garage. It's recommemed that you park one level below the top floor, and then we can all move to the top later for the group shot.
2. Print out the registration form I posted a couple of days ago, dill it out and bring it with you.
3. There is both El mercado and a sub shop across the street to get something to eat. (I assume the sub shop has restroom facilities)

Mark did a great job with the photo of my 1866 Firebird Formula 350 at the Roundup Saturday. Just far enough away that you can't see too many little paint chips and dings on that old original paint. Still pops pretty good in the bright Texas sun, gives you some idea of what she must have looked like brand new.
