Re: Lets see some Houston Area Thirdgens!

Here is a couple pics of my headache. I haven't done anything visual to it yet. Working on the tune right now which seems like it will take forever. Loaded up with all the latest and greatest Moates.net hardware and absorbing as much info as I can.
These are pics from the day I brought her home.

Re: Lets see some Houston Area Thirdgens!

I can't remember if it is 67,000 or 76,000 but it's not much either way. I actually bought it from a guy over there in Katy back in Feburary I think. Needs a lot of work but luckily very minimal rust. Mainly the tuning and wiring are the bulk of it.

So who did that sick a** paint job? Looks like alot of hours went into that thing.

Re: Lets see some Houston Area Thirdgens!

I bought it this way for $2800 on craigslist from a guy up in Cypress. A place called Auto Toyz Customz did the paint job here in Houston I believe. I had to rebuild the transmission and had a Corvette shift kit put in. That was like $1700. Needed new tires too. I just got the rear tires. They were about $500. Nice ones though. Nitto NT555s 285/40-17s. Freakin 10"s wide.

Nice, I guess with those wheels you don't have to run spacers either. I always liked those nittos too. Great performance for pretty reasonable price.

It is VERY clean. I also like the guages that are under the air vents and over the radio. That's a different steering wheel as well. I actually like the one that comes in it stock though.

Here are a few interior pics (as promessed)

Interior still undergoing Restoration, but so far I've cleaned it out, replaced all broken or missing vents, replaced missing rear view mirror with aftermarket one, and installed a custom made leather (yes real leather) shift boot.

Did you die the rest of your interior? I can't tell from the last interior pic but it kinda looks like the carpet and such is darker.

Re: Lets see some Houston Area Thirdgens!

Sorry, life has been busy and I have not been on these boards in a month or so. I am glad to see so many beautiful 3rd gens in the houston area. I guess I have been going to all the wrong shows, because I have never seen a lot of them.

I have pics of my car all over these forums. This isnt the best pic, but it is one I havent posted before:

This is an old picture but it looks about the same today. The only difference is the 17x9 steel rims with 275-40's all the way around.
One of these days I need to get it out to a track. I'm sure it will run a high ten...but I don't expect anyone to take my word for it, with out a time slip, I'm just another pretender...

The 11.8in my sig. was back in 2005, it was running poorly that day...

Thanks!

I just wish I had more time to play with it. I've been working too much lately and hardly ever get it out of the garage..

Well mine is two steps forward and 1 back as always... got it running great and everything working... then boom... radiator leak.... exhaust touching oil pan... I'm actually debating about removing the cat back and going to 2.5 pip rather than the 3 mandrel i have now...

Check Craigslist daily! There is an 87 on there right now that seems to be complete but needs alot of love for like a 1000.

Would make a great project but not streetable as it sits.
