West Houston Muscle Used to Meet at a 59 Diner over hear in Katy right off of the feeder. Stake 'n Shake has better burgers though. I'm open for any where in the West or Central area of Houston.
I'm down for a good burger/shake place too. I'd also like to keep it family oriented (no drugs/alcohol...who wants to drive under the influence anyway?).

Depending on where everyone's coming from, I think a meeting point in the Galleria area might be a good idea, just to split the difference among us. Those coming from the South may not want to go to Katy, and I know I don't want to go down to Clear Lake (I live in NW Houston).

That said, right off the bat, I found three decent burger places on or near Westheimer Road, all very close to each other:

1. Pappa's Burgers (Westheimer btwn Chimney Rock & Fountainview) - It's been a long time since I ate there, but I remember it being much better than average. Plenty of overflow parking and space to spread out.

The next two are both at the San Felipe/Fountainview intersection.

2. Southwell's Hamburger Grill (San Felipe side) - Decent enough user reviews, but part of a strip mall. Crowded.

3. Cliff's Old Fashion Hamburgers (Fountainview side) - Mixed user reviews, more parking room, no milkshakes (?!?)

Anyway, it's getting late and I'm getting lazy. Tomorrow I'll set up a poll for who wants to come, where they're coming from, if the Galleria area is a decent place to meet, etc.

I agree. We should split the difference. I like your 1st Resturaunt Idea. Lots of parking, good food, good location. Post a link for the pole thread here if you could.

Re: gaugeing interest in fall meet

Honestly, what's wrong with cruising Westheimer? Yeah, it's congested, but so is everywhere else in Houston.

I'm going to throw our get together in the works out to WestHoustonMuscle.com. I know they cruise all over Houston, so I bet they'll have some ideas.

Also, let's try to move the discussion over to the Houston Meetup Poll thread so we can maintain some kind of continuity.

Re: gaugeing interest in fall meet

Its not just Westheimer, its the whole are in general your talking about. The traffic sucks, the roads suck. Parking is a nightmare just about everywhere. Thats my experience anyway.
