I hate my car
This morning the car did the same thing to me as it did at the gathering.
I fired it up (Fresh charged battery (Trickle charged it all night), and the alternator wasn't charging over 8v again and the car was running like ***. I turned the car off, only to not have it fire up again.
I've been chasing a 1amp draw from my accessory circuit for the past week, it ends up draining my battery in 24 hours.
I have inadvertently fixed and broken other things in the process of finding the amp leak. My autodimming rearview mirror went out, then I fixed it. I lost all my fan speeds on my blower (Fried the wiring, ground and relay), fixed that. I also fixed my horn (it is on the accessory circuit).
On the accessory circuit we have the interior lights, door light switches, dome light, radio, cig lighters, horn, hatch pulldown and I think that's it.
I've checked the radio, alarm, HVAC controls, light switches, rearview mirror and map lights, dome light, rear hatch pulldown, and both my cig lighters. I also disconnected my electric cutout which hasn't been working in a while.
Nothing is drawing any power.
Things I need to check today are, Alternator, Computer, I have one driving light that is out (I just replaced the light, worked for a couple of days and the wiring fubar'd on it). I replaced all the wiring to that light already and replaced the light. Needless to say I am pissed that it isn't working again. None of the problems I described are on the CTSY circuit with the 1 amp draw.
ARGH!!!!
Someone drive my car off a cliff, or buy me 100% new wiring for my car all the way around.

Nice!!! My hood latch just broke and my car is still overheating! So we should all commit group suicide.

Re: I hate my car
I had a problem with my battery going dead as if I had a short and I found water in the A/C fan relay. I heard it boiling/hissing in there is the only way I found it. GM for some reason always hangs the relay with the metal cover down like a cup. I washed the engine and it filled up. Put a new one on as it was fried and put silicone sealer around the edges. Take the cover off and check inside.
Sorry, just went and looked - I have the old style metal cap on my old GM. Wasn't thinking about the new plastic style.
Did you wash the engine before going to the meet? Might be water in something else.
BTW - I have an 89 IROC body (only) wiring harness if you need it. Includes under dash.

Re: I hate my car
I have a latch and cable you can have - I'm in Spring. It's on a 89 IROC. So it should give you 10 extra horses...

Sonar, with my car I've just started being thankful for what actually works. That would include the two front speakers and the transmission.

Holy shneikies!!
I FRIGGEN FOUND IT!!
Apparently my heated O2 sensor was attached to my ACC circuit instead of IGN. I thought for sure I checked that connection already.

Re: I hate my car
Thanks for the offer, I havent got the hood open yet to see what exactly is wrong with the latch so I will definitely keep in mind that you have one. I will contact you if I need it.

Re: I hate my car
I also believe I fixed that intermittent starting issue I had when I was at the gathering. Turns out the positive wire from the alternator to the battery was fried to a crisp, leaving only a couple of strands attempting to charge the battery.
Fixed :P

Re: I hate my car
Zane, this is going to sound stupid because you probably arlready checked, but did you check the fuse and bulbs already? Is there anything else electrical that stopped working the same time the signals did?
