Trials and tribulations of me getting a hood...
Finally, after hell and high water i got one. For 270$ it is not bad for a bolt on 4 inch. 130$ was the shipping cost on top of it. I hope you guys like it, i think it makes me happy. I would be a bit happier with another L88, but not for the price, ill post painted pics ASAP....when i get around to it, i got some work to do to get her fitting perfect, but i am so happy to have a hood i am in heaven!!!
Hood is from Liberty fiberglass, it needs a tiny bit of finish sanding but i am not complaining for the price, i deffinatly reccomend them. In fact, i might see if they want to become a sponsor possibly?
You can get them from Ebay, you have prolly seen them before.

Looks good, I cant really tell how it fits from the pics. How is was the fitment right out of the box? Does it have the lip on the front?

It is great man, no front lip to have to trim and the fitment is great, the finish needs to be sanded with some fine sand paper but other than that it is as good as it gets. I need to cut the rear vents out, no biggie.

I like it.
But you might think twice about those rear vents...they are right next to the air-intake for the AC system, so on hot days you will have engine heat pumping in to the cabin. No to mention the problems that an exhaust leak might cause.

Cool, if I ever decided to sell my hood and get another I might consider them then.

Re: Trials and tribulations of me getting a hood...
I just thought I would mention it because when I first put on my fiberglass hood I didn't swap over the seal that goes unser the back...next thing I knew I was catching a buzz off of the 180 degree, exhaust laden air that was cominig out of my vents.
If you do open them up I recommend you build an aluminum pan that can be glued to your hood that will enclose the air filter when the hood is down. That will make sure that the hot air stays away from your air filer and the cold air you get when moving will go IN the air filter.

Yeah, I really like the air pan idea. Where did you get the foam that you have on your air pan Eric?

Looks pretty good, definitely get some more pics of it in light and get some more angles. Did you have to do any trimming to get it to fit? I notice that there is a decent gap in the front, but other than that it looks really good. I thin I might buy one of these hoods and just sell mine instead of messing with the lip.

Yea, i am going to hopefully take some outside pics tomorrow. I have the gap in the front due to the nose being sagged a bit, i think somone barely rearended a vehicle, it was way worse so i am happy to have it where it is.

Dude, you gotta hear it with the cutouts closed, it sounds like a L98 with a cam, nothing really mean, i tried to line up with a C5 but he wouldnt do it, also a 600 on the freeway and he didnt want any ither. It cool, oh yea, i just got the pro form carb on FINALLY and it pulls WAY harder to 6k rpm. Awesome, i hope to have the rear end in by febuary.
Glad you like it Brad.

Nice, did you just add the proform main body or did you get a hole new unit? I might a have a deal in place that will land me a performence built 400 sbc so maybe I will finally be up in your class. I hate having my car running, my savings account was setup very nice before I got back into it, now everything I see is car.
