please advice quick.

could u use the stock iroc transmission with a 355?

it depends on how strong the motor you build is as to how long the trans lasts.
you could build a killer 283 & smoke a stock trans on the first pass.
a mild 355 shouldn't be any problem for a stock 700.
how much power are you talking about, over 350HP?

you can build a 700 to handle more power, how much more power depends on how much you want to spend. a well built 700 with the right converter can take 600 HP & 600 pounds of torque.
of course a used stock trans won't handle as much power as a brand new stock trans will, parts get weak & wear out from use.
you can talk to Owen at ARD if you need something stronger than stock, he knows his stuff.
