My Beast can roam the streets for one more year!!!
I just got my car inspected this weekend and I am pumped to know that I can legally drive my car for at least another year. Right now I am saving up to get a few things for the car and then I am going to rip the engine out and fix a few things. The main thing I need to fix is my tranny. As most of you know after our talks at recent meets my tranny wont shift into OD so it drives me nuts when driving on the freeway. So I am going to pull the motor and tranny out, fix the oil pan leek I have on the engine and then I am going change all the gaskets on the trans, add a torque converter lock up switch, Deeper Pan, new kickdown cable, and a new shifter because I cant stand the Mega shifter. I am going with the quarter stick. I am also thinking about a bigger cam and higher stall. After all of that I will start saving for the body work. Hopefully I will have the motor in and out of the car before March. Are we going to have another Spring event?

I thought U were doing an LT-1 or LS-1 swap?
Will it not shift into OD at all or just under hard power?
I have a brand new TCI extra capacity finned pan for a 700--put it on my car but it hung too low, because of the lowering springs I put on the car--had it on there for about 50 miles. Sell it cheap.
Yes, we should be having the 2006 Spring Fling in April/May--no plans yet.

Yeah I am putting the LT1 swap on hold for a while. Turns out the T-56 I got was junk so I got my money back for both. I really don’t feel like going after another Engine/Trans combo so I am going to stick with my current motor trans I will probably buy another car to do the Lt1 swap on and make my current car an all out drag car. Of course that will have to wait a while. Right now I just want to get it back on the road so I can make some meets and enjoy driving it again.
It will not shift into over drive at all, no matter how hard or soft I am accelerating. Some people have said that it has something to do with my TC lockup so I am going get an aftermarket kit. This Trans has been beet to hell and it leeking at the pan, lines, and real seal. Also the TV cable is old and brittle and was adjusted wrong when I purchased it. I am basically going to freshen it up and hope that fixes the problem. If that doesn’t work I will have to consider some other options. I appreciate the offer on the TCI pan but I ran that pan on my first Camaro and it would scrap on speed bumps. I am not looking for that big of a pan. Right now I am looking at an off brand pan that carries just one extra quart and has the cooling fins. I will keep everyone updated on my progress as soon as I get started here in the next couple weeks.

I know what you mean.
But now I'm home free! I'll never need another emission inspection, ever again!

What is it 25 yrs? Dont you have to get it safety inspected still? Because my car wont pass that either. That is why I am planning on turning her into an all out drag car and buying another car to do the LT1 swap on. For the amount it would cost to get everything legal I can buy another Camaro with a straight body.

Well, it will be 25 by the time my currect inspection runs out. I don't care about the safety inspection. My car is safe and it's only $12.50.
