NEW HOOD OFF EBAY, DO NOT BUY FROM HOODS4SALE
SO I BOUGHT A HOOD OFF EBAY, ITS THE FIBERGLASS 3' COWL SVO HOOD, IT WAS ONLY $290+$100 BUCKS FOR SHIPPING, NOW I KNEW THIS WASNT A GOOD IDEA,THE PRICE WAS TO CHEAP AND ALL OF THE HOODS HE SOLD WAS SOLD AS PRIVATE SO YOU COULDN'T SEE WHAT HOOD ANYONE BOUGHT UNDER HIS NEG FEEDBACK, I JUST COULDN'T RESIST GETTING THIS HOOD. I LOVED THAT IT WAS A 3'COWL WITH THE SS HOOD LOOK ON TOP OF COWL. SHIPPING WAS FAST (ONLY GOOD THING ABOUT THE PURCHASE) SO AS SOON AS I GOT IT I PUT IT ON TO SEE HOW MUCH WORK WOULD REALLY NEED TO BE DONE, IT WAS BAD THERE WERE 3/4 TO 1 INCH GAPS ON EACH SIDE OF HOOD ,WOULDN'T SIT ALL THE WAY DOWN NEAR THE WINDSHIELD CAUSE THE COWL HIT WIPERS AND VENTS.NOW I EXPECTED THERE TO BE ALOT OF WORK, I CAN FIX THE GAPS AND CUT THE BOTTOM OF COWL, BUT THE PROBLEM WAS LOOKING FROM THE SIDE OF CAR THE MIDDLE OF THE HOOD ARCHED UP OVER THE FENDER ABOUT AN INCH, U COULD SEE IN THROUGH THE HOOD FROM STANDING ON SIDE OF CAR IT WAS TERRIBLE. THAT'S A HARD ONE TO FIX, IF IT COULD BE FIXED AT ALL AND STILL LOOK GOOD ON MY CAR, SO WHAT DO YOU GUYS THINK OF THE LOOK OF THE HOOD, OTHER THAN THE ISSUES WITH FITMENT,

Re: NEW HOOD OFF EBAY, DO NOT BUY FROM HOODS4SALE
you get what you pay for
but on a serious note re-type that without the caps on, its impossible to read
theres a good chance that its hitting your washer bottle and coolant bottle, itll be hard to see with the nose on but see if you can look in between the hood and nose with a flashlight to see if its hitting anything.
mine hit the wipers a bit too...thats easy enough to trim down.
fiberglass....gotta love it

attaching fiberglass to steel usually doesnt turn out well or last a long time without cracking.

Sounds like you missed the threads on this Ebay seller:

The hoods are total garbage - Honestly, with as low quality as the materials were to begin with, I'd recommend not wasting your time with molding this crap on your factory hood.

All glass hoods require alot of alignment tweeking to get them to fit decent. I have a harwood bolt on 3"cowl hood and it took half a day, even had to slot the front latch mount holes more to allow the hood to drop down low enough to sit correctly. Basicly a big pain in the butt, but I do believe the cheaper hoods original molds dont fit our cars as close as we would like. My buddy works at a fiberglass shop and he is always complaing about the way fiberglass warps out of shape

I have 40 hours in my VFN hood. Fiberglass takes time to make straight.

Honestly, I think that hood looks like crap anyway. It looks like someone just threw on a small ss style scoop on top of a cowl and called it a day.

Thanks for the heads up, but no one has to tell me not to buy an aftermarket fiberglass hood off ebay for 290 bucks. Shipping costs isn't necessarilly their fault.

Im the OP from one of those threads. That hood was one of the largest reasons for my lack of interest in my car.
