Has anyone made a crossmember for the th400 to fit in a camaro? I would like to fab one myself if I could get some measurements and ideas from someone I have heard that I can use the torqe arm thats for 700r but I have not tryed I am waiting to save enough money to get 400 built before I pull the old 700r out.

Google GM transmissions and youll find several pages comparing the overall dimensions of each GM trans

Build your crossmember accordingly

B&M and Hurst sell a bracket to bolt your stock TA bushing to the crossmember under the tranny mount. If you are capable of fabricating a crossmember you can handle this bracket as well

Off topic, why are you having a TH400 built up for your 305 TPI? I highly doubt youll break a stock TH350 even with a heavily modded 383

Thanks Pocket I didnt think about that. The reason for 400 is I already have one but needs rebuilding and this is the 3rd 700r put behind this 305.I dont know why but they all went bad and that is the main reason I got this car so cheap. Also will be replacing 305 with a L31 hoping to get above 400 hp.

Just thought I would add this,I looked up dimensions for th400 got 3 different measurements off the only 3 pages I looked at, then went to my shop all 3 were wrong for my short tail 400. lol guess thats hot rodding.
