I know I could look a the backspacing charts all day long, but I want to get input from people actually running these wheels on a Camaro. I have a 87 IROC. I pretty sure I want to go with 15x8s in the back and 15x6 or 15x7 in the front, with a 275/60 in the back and probably a 225/60 or 235/60 in the front. Exactly what backspacing and offset to a need for this to work (and not stick out in the back like a skateboard)? My car has rear disc brakes -- are there any clearance issues with 15" wheels? Thanks.

I understand the frustration about repeat posts, but sometimes it's hard to find exactly what you need to know. I have been weeding through posts since I posted this question (sorry I didn't do it sooner). I have found the size and lugnuts choices explained, but I'm not entirely clear on brake clearance in the back. From what I gather, the wheels will probably hit, and my two choices are to run a backspacing that will make the wheels stick out and look retarded, or to grind my calipers down or use spaces (well, actually that's three choices), and none are appealing to me. If I'm wrong, someone correct me. If this combo doesn't work out, I'll probably stick with my GTA wheels on a Camaro for now, and maybe look into Torque Thrusts or Hopsters in a 16 or 17" size later. By the way, in defense of the "repeat post", if no one did it, there would nothing on these forums. I'm sure practically every Camaro or Firebird question has been asked and answered about 1,000 times. However new members still want to know certain things, without weeding through thousands of posts, and still not finding what they need to know. But I apologize just the same to the "veterans" of this forum.

that's what is on my camaro. Bigger fronts look retarded on these cars. If you have to grind some caliper fins on the back oh well, everyone with LT1 and LS1 cars have to do it as well.

Thanks!!! I think I might have seen one of your posts when I was searching, and you advised someone else about using longer wheel studs. It's been so long since I ran a car at the dragstrap (about 10 years), I don't remember all the tech stuff. In fact, the dragstrip I run at didn't even tech "street" cars (I know they had a tech booth, but for whatever reason, I didn't have to go through it). Is the longer wheel studs a quickness issue -- i.e. 13.99, 12.99, etc. and under, or is it for every car? I don't entirely understand how a "shank" lugnut would work with longer studs (and I don't see how an open lugnut would seat inside a Weld or other similar wheel. I don't have access to an air grinder, but can I assume that a dremel would work just as well on the back brakes if I have to go that route? Thanks again.

Depending on the size of the rear tires, you can go up to a 15 x 10 with 5.5" backspace on the rear.

Both Draglite and Pro Star rims require longer wheel studs and shank wheel nuts that use washers. The center hub is too thick for factory studs.
