1 piece fiberglass front end kits

I make "aftermarket" fiberglass oem style bike fairings for sportbikes, and was thinking about going a bit bigger. As in 1 piece formula, trans am and camaro bolt on front end kits. Hinged vette style, hi quality prelayed gel coat, with hand-layed glass sanded and prepped for paint from the box, with mounting hardware and instructions at an affordable price. (not determined yet) I want to know if people out there are interested in this. IS there a market? If so, and I get good replies on this post, I WILL produce them, my car being the first one to come, which will be where all the pictures and etc will come from before I start selling. I do my work with a professional glasser that builds 28' glass model-a coupes. Quality is SUPERB. What do you guys think, please, everyone post here. -Colt

I would be more interested in just a fiberglass front facia. This way one wouldn't have to make a front facia support when removing the front bumper for weight reduction. I've been looking for someone who makes them but have not been successful. I think there are quite a few people that would be interested in this.

Do you mean something like harwood sells?

http://shop.eharwood.com/cgi-bin/harwood/12001.html

The only problem I dont like with the harwood one is its 4inches longer then stock.

UP 22 has lots of stuff also..
http://www.up22.com/camaro82.htm

but I hear the UP22 quality isnt that great.

there's lots of camaro stuff out there, hell, full fiber bodies, but not much for the firechickens, and lets admit it, the firechickens are lighter, and faster including high speeds due to aerodynamics. in my opinion at least, but just not a whole lot of body kits or accesories, or at least not as many as there should be,. the main focus here is the firechickens. -Colt

Engine: whole bunch of tree fitties
Transmission: same as above
I would be very interested in a full fiberglass tilt front end for my camaro drag car (91') That would make it so easy to work on in the pits. My old 88' s10 drag car I had a fiberglass tilt front end and I loved it.

The extra 4” is added to the back edge of the fenders… you can trim them to the stock length, if you’re able to do the rest of the pep work for this you’ll be able to do that.

firebirds average 130-160# heavier then a comparably equipped camaro. The power headlights added roughly 31#, most of the trim and interior is heavier, there is more sound deadening and there were some slight changes in the basic sheet metal.

As far as what to make… I’d love to see an early 3rd gen firebird or even TA nose (the non aero package 82-84 TA’s had the best Cd of all the 3rd gens followed by the 91/92 ‘bird/TA). It seems like you can get a glass camaro hood easily, as well as a TA/GTA style with all the aero stuff, but you can’t get a firebird/formula/early firebird (you can add the early TA non aero package spats and other stuff yourself with a little creativity) anywhere.

Check to see how your investment to profit will be also. There's a fw sites out there offering this pretty cheap since they're established in this feild, would think intial R&D would make this a pricey venture and would take awhile to get the upfront costs back.

How about SEPARATE PIECED FIBERGLASS FRONT ENDS?!? I've been searching high and low for just Fiberglass fenders !!!!! Since I'm doing a Knight Rider conversion, a one piece will do me no good. Would anyone be up to the task?

BASTARDS! That sux, they're a few steps ahead of me! hehe, Oh well, less work for me to do. just buy one of they're kits and do it over better. They've even got doors! ****! time to pay the piper guys, this stuff is goin' down. I'll start making the fender's 1st, since they're less abundant, then go to hoods, and then rework a totally new "body kit", for the car eventually.

I know I'd be interested in a glass front bumper with a lower air dam on it. Much like this one offered by showcars: http://www.showcars-bodyparts.com/fi...rontbumper.JPG
They are the only company i've been able to find that offers something like that, but they also have a rep for lousy products...Maybe if you are thinking about doing the fenders individually you could do the same with the bumper?

Nitrovamp, or anyone else; are you up to the task? The guy I originally had doing this for me is bailing because he is getting reassigned.....anyone able to mold off of one of their firebirds or T/As and fab a set of fenders and a power bulge formula hood? I only ask because I have no knowledge myself of working with fiberglass...

I would like to take off the length off the front.

Bring the front bumper straight down from the
crash bar, with a one piece bumper like a nascar
design to hide the front wheels.

There is to much space of front between the
radiator and headlights also, the headlights could
of be taken 4 inches or more back into the hood
if the battery is relocated to the rear along with the
fume cannister.

The overall appearance would be much more symetrical
in my opinion.

I would be interested in a one peice lift off style front end. I've thought about popping a mold off of mine and laying it myself.

I wish someone would make a 1 piece fiberglass front end that is to the stock measurements. Everything I find is either extended 4" or 6". If anyone knows of a company that makes a stock fiberglass piece front end please let me know.
