How many amps does a typical small block starter draw??
I need to know for my demo derby car, since I will be using a push button starter, and I need to know how many amps the switch has to handle. 72 Buick LeSabre with a Buick 350 by the way. Thanks.

Well I think you need to worry about how much the starter solenoid draws not the start itself. If the steering column start switch can handle it, I image you will need a small 10-20 AMP switch. You gotta remember this switch only sees those amps for a few seconds while the starter is turning over, so it's not like you have to get a big honking switch or anything
