Moog Non AC v6 Front Springs

Anyone who has installed v6 front springs on their street/strip car, how many coils did you end up cutting? My car is a 89 Iroc SBC, Iron heads, lots of weight reduction. I have pulled enough weight that my car is sitting up pretty high:

1 coil, but i would do 1/2 coil increments for any discrepancies between coil manufacturers.

Re: Moog Non AC v6 Front Springs

My advise is get the car to final race weight with all the safety gear you may need before cutting coils.

A 6pt cage, sub-frame connectors and driveshaft safety loop will put most of the weight back in, but you will need these things to race at a track (and brace the uni-body) depending on the purpose of your car.

why not just install taller tires?

something to consider if yours are worn out anyway. it may be harder later on to fit taller tires after you cut coils. you will have to reinstall new uncut coils or convert to coil overs..

Re: Moog Non AC v6 Front Springs

i don't know that he intends to go fast enough to warrant a 6pt (really a 5pt is all you need) roll bar.

Re: Moog Non AC v6 Front Springs

I did exactly that, factory V6 springs all around. One coil cut off the front. And almost 1 and 3/4 coil cut off the rear. Just due weight reduction.
