Hawaii! Any fellow third gen owners?
I'm on the big island! Wondering if there are any other big islanders with thirdgens on here. Setup a cruise or something, all I see are toyotas and Hondas. Need some Chevys!

Re: Hawaii! Any fellow third gen owners?
nah all 3rd gens have potential.. one of the main reasons is most of us own it out right... and I been looking what people been doing with theirs and I'm impressed what can be done with a little money here and their invested into it. I love the body style , simple paint job will do wonders on these

Re: Hawaii! Any fellow third gen owners?
And it's entirely possible, seeing as a stock ls1 will run low 13s in a thirdgen, it's just about the price, and especially down here even finding an ls1! Mines is a budget build haha, I put a different motor in my car already, but I want to build it a little more, and some paint would be nice

I was thinking maybe throw a little time into it every month and see how it grows on me. maybe at the end of the year make the big jump and do an engine swap

Re: Hawaii! Any fellow third gen owners?
You have the 5.0 right? Let me know how it comes out a little built, I'd like to see the results, I have one in my garage but I'm unsure what to do with it! Haha I want to build it but don't know if it would respond well to simple mods like cam and heads

Re: Hawaii! Any fellow third gen owners?
sounds like a plan. decided to turn this car into a hobby since no note on it. never had time to work on cars or didn't want to because of voiding warrenty . no note or fear of voiding warranty means I can rip this car apart with little fear lol

Re: Hawaii! Any fellow third gen owners?
mod wise I'm trying to build a dd/sleeper. something with power on hand but preserving its original look. I think these cars are beautiful. when old people see it they know what it is and admire it when younger generation see it they respect it even though they aint famailer with it the sound of a V8 exhaust note is beast and different then their 4 cylinder import exhaust note

Re: Hawaii! Any fellow third gen owners?
mod wise looking down the road hmmmmm. at least 350+ stroker type motor most common 383 camed roller/rockers with ram air style cowel hood with ram air induction type method instead of cold air intake with t56 6speed transmission Hurst short shift T handle shifter stronger (posi) axle/gears 3.73 (3.42 currently) . my list goes on and on. but to sum it up . this car will be my first hobby type vehicle and I'm trying to learn as much as possible because I enjoy it. my idea build is a dd 13 sec 1/4 mi 383 stroker with bolt ons only hopefully 20 mi per gallon I know wishful thinking unless its an ls1 motor , stock look

Re: Hawaii! Any fellow third gen owners?
but currently I'm looking for gauge cluster alternative . my speedo and tack just went out and my fuel gauge is off by 1/4 . scheduling in 2 weeks tune up and oil change. not sure though I might attempt changing rotor cap plugs and spark/injectors myself.

Mines is a 91 Z28 w/G92 code/package. How did you find out was for sale?. From the road the car look like it was in good condition, is it running?

Re: Hawaii! Any fellow third gen owners?
It has some fading from the sun, I just knocked on the door and they said it didn't run, I offered cash for it and they said ok. It had a frozen water pump so I took it off and put a different size belt and drove it home. It needs a tune up and I have to register it
