I just welded on rear control arm relocation brackets on my new rear end and I am off by 1/2 of a deg from one side to the other is this going to be enough to cause me rear aliginment issuse this is more or les a drag car the last five sets I have done have been dead nuts perfect do a set for myself and I screw it all up

Slot the holes toward the rear, on the side that's mounted toward the front; and install the control arms all the way toward the rear.

Or, do what some of the rest of us have done over the years... the welds that hold the tubes in the pumpkin are cracked anyway, so just tweeek the tubes around until the brackets line up and weld em in place.

I know the geometry is still a little off, but adjustable control arms should address most of it. There is going to be some variance in the factory control arm mounts to begin with. It cant be exactly right.

Thanks for the ideas .5 tenths of a degree may not seem like alot but concrete retaining walls don't give I do a wheels up launch and it is not perfect ......... *$@#
I am going to heat the one side with a bead of weld then give her some persuasion with the old dead blow BFH !!!

After heating it and a little persuasion I am in 1 tenths of a degree from each other good as it is going to get ???

How'd the eeeeezy and sensible things like slotting the holes or turning the tubes work out?

How are you measuring 1/10 of a degree? I can't think of many ways to do it accurately and I can't im gine that the rest of the car is nearly that accurately put together... heck, I bet that the slop in the pivot bolt holes works out to more than that.

thanks for all the ideas true simply adjusting the tubes on the control arms will bring everything around true center .. I am a bit OCD when measuring stuff I buy three sets of engine bearings to build one engine so all my oil clearances would match that is how I build stuff perfect is only good enough.
my procedure for measuring position of the brackets I use a very precise digital angle finder. after I place rear end on stands and level it.. looks like the angle finder is out of calibration not zeroing properly I hard welded everything before I realized this I am still off by 5-6 tenths of a degree from passenger to drivers side.
To give you an idea how exact I do things few months ago I rebuild the entire front end of a dodge snow plow truck ball joints tie rod ends center link .. when we took it in for alignment the tech asked why was it here nothing was out of spec
I have built five rear ends with relocation brackets on them in the last couple of years and the one I build for me is basically now junk kinda depressing really to be this obsessive but that's how I am
